The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 292

By the time they crossed into the province where Riverdale was located, the world outside was a blanket of white—a true winter wonderland.

“This snow will probably last for a couple of days. We can take Chaim to build a snowman this weekend,” Joseph said suddenly, noticing she was awake and staring out the window.

Vivica turned to him. “Are you done with your work?”

“No, but it can wait until I get to the office this afternoon.”

“You’re going to work this afternoon?” she asked, surprised. It was Friday; she had assumed he would rest after a business trip.

“Of course.” A small smile touched his lips, his voice low and clear. “In our line of work, there’s no off-season. The winter and summer holidays are actually our busiest times.”

“Why are they busier?” Vivica asked, her curiosity piqued.

“When students are on break, juvenile delinquency cases spike. That’s a major factor, but there are others. The holidays are a period when legal needs tend to surge. It’s not just lawyers who are busier—it’s the entire judicial system.”

Vivica found this fascinating; she was learning something new. Noticing Joseph’s gaze on her, she came back to the present and offered a compliment. “You’re incredible, Mr. Baird. The world needs more people like you to uphold justice.”

Joseph gave a wry smile. “That compliment came a bit out of nowhere.”

Vivica just smiled without replying.

Roderic summoned the chief attendant and ordered three lunches.
