Her ex-husband and the Lynn family, on the other hand, hadn't crossed her mind once.
Wanting to see the person you liked was a natural desire, but the problem was she was sharing a room with a colleague. How could she explain being out all night?
“I’m sharing a room with a coworker,” she explained.
“I don’t care. If you don’t give me the address, I’ll just have to find out through other channels,” Joseph threatened coldly.
He knew which company she worked for. With his connections in Riverdale, getting her hotel information would be as simple as making a phone call.
“Don’t! I’ll send it to you in a minute.”
“Good. I’m hanging up then.”
His objective achieved, Joseph ended the call abruptly.
Vivica remained by the window in the stairwell, letting the night breeze wash over her. It still hadn’t fully sunk in that she was about to see Joseph. The man was so decisive, always catching her off guard.
After a moment of chaotic thoughts, she remembered his threat and quickly sent him the hotel address.
It was only a three-star hotel; he’d definitely find it beneath him. Would he force her to pack her things and move to a different hotel with him? If he did, how would she explain that to Holly and Zavier? They were on a business trip together and were supposed to return together. This would complicate everything.
Her phone buzzed with a new message from Joseph. [GPS says I’ll be there in 40 minutes.]
Oh, God! Vivica groaned inwardly. He would be here in forty minutes! Should she pack her things or not? What if she packed everything up, and it turned out he only wanted to grab a late-night snack? That would be beyond embarrassing.
The more she thought, the more flustered she became, her cheeks burning. She covered her face with her hands for a moment before turning and heading back to her room.
