"How should I know!" Fletcher snapped, his patience worn thin. He had no time for his sister's questions. "All that matters is she has better options now. She's got nothing to do with us anymore."

"How can you say that? You two have Chaim," Loretta argued. She studied her brother for a moment before a new idea dawned on her. "Look, you and Riley are over anyway. Why don't you go beg Vivica to take you back? If you can get back together with her, all of your current problems will be solved."

Fletcher stared at his sister, momentarily stunned into silence.

Loretta pressed on, "You can start with Chaim. Try to see him more, spend time with him. I can tell he still has feelings for you."

Fletcher felt a flicker of hope. He truly did regret his choices now. What so-called true love? Looking back, his affair with Riley felt like a fleeting infatuation. How had he been so foolish, letting her wrap him around her little finger?

"But she's with that Baird guy now…"

"I bet he is only paying her extra attention because the kid looks like him," Loretta scoffed. "A man of his status, getting serious with a divorced woman with a child? Please. Rich men care about their image more than anything. He's just playing around with her. He'd never actually marry her."

Fletcher considered this and nodded slowly. "You're right… And maybe Vivica is just acting friendly with Joseph to make me jealous. She used to love me so much. How could she just stop loving me overnight?"

"Exactly! Find a chance to talk to her. Apologize sincerely, and most importantly, play the victim. You know Vivica's always been a soft touch. She'll come around."
