Evelyn, needing a favor from her daughter, didn't dare pull rank. She forced a smile, even though Vivica's tone was cold. "Vivica, I'm almost at the hospital. Which room are you in? Are you with Chaim?"

"I'll text you the room number in a bit."

"Can't you just tell me now?"

Joseph turned back. "Why?"

"My mother is coming, and I'm afraid she'll cause a scene and disturb your parents. Besides, I don't want her anywhere near Chaim."
