The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 124

Fletcher remained silent. Clearly, neither option appealed to him.

To give up everything now meant he would be left with nothing. Worse, he would be saddled with debt—paying Vivica the value of her share of the company assets in annual installments. It meant that not only were his years of hard work for nothing, but he would effectively be working for Vivica for the next several years. The humiliation was too much to bear.

Seeing his hesitation, the officer offered another piece of advice. “Mr. Sanford, let me remind you, even after you complete the fifteen days of detention, there’s no guarantee you’ll win in court. With the domestic violence report we have on file, you’re almost certain to lose. If you don’t believe me, ask your lawyer. I’m not exaggerating.”

Fletcher glanced at Gavin.

Gavin leaned in close. “Take the deal,” he whispered. “At least you’ll still have the company. I’ll talk to Joseph and try to get the repayment period extended to give you a chance to recover. If this goes to court and they order a division of company shares, she’ll become a shareholder. She’ll have a say in management decisions. If she wants to see you fail, she could ruin the entire company.”

Fletcher stared at him, his eyes wide with disbelief and defiance.

Gavin just nodded. “I’m not kidding.”

Although he spoke in a low voice, the room was so quiet that everyone heard him.

Vivica had a feeling that Gavin was subtly trying to help her, likely out of respect for Joseph.

Riley, however, wasn’t having it. “But if it goes to court, at least he’ll get to keep some of the marital assets, right?” she interjected. “Why should he have to give everything to Vivica?”
