Sky drove Sierra out of the company building, heading straight for Walker Group. When they arrived and got out of the car, they saw Samuel sitting in a wheelchair. His gaze was full of resentment as he stared unblinking at Sierra and Sky.
Sierra was taken aback and immediately pulled out her phone to call Maggie. It took a while for Maggie to answer.
"Hello, Ms. Remington," Maggie greeted.
"Where is Samuel?" Sierra asked sharply.
Maggie responded honestly, "Mr. Sinclair is out shopping with Tom and Evan. They were worried about him, seeing how depressed he's been lately, so they suggested taking him out to lift his spirits. Is something wrong, Ms. Remington?"
Sierra gritted her teeth. "Samuel's right here in front of me. Who gave you permission to take him out?"
Maggie gasped in shock. "I'm so sorry, Ms. Remington! I'll call the caretakers right now and have them bring him back."
Sierra ended the call, but before she could approach Samuel, he suddenly pulled out a loudspeaker. He turned it on, and his tearful voice boomed through the air, drawing everyone's attention.
"Darling, please come home! I don't care if you've fallen for the president of Walker Group. I'll act like it never happened. I just want you back. I love you!
"As long as you don't divorce me, I'll do whatever you want. Even if you want to live with Sky, I'll accept it. Please come home. Stop running around out here, okay?"
Samuel cried as he pressed the button on his wheelchair and slowly rolled toward Sierra.
He continued sobbing loudly into the speaker, saying, "My dearest Sierra, please. I'm not truly disabled. My leg is only temporarily broken. I'll get better. When I do, I'll work hard and make money. I'll give you the life you deserve.
"Darling, please don't abandon me. I don't want a divorce. I love you so much. I really can't live without you."
Since Samuel's speaker was turned all the way, and he was crying while shouting from his wheelchair with a cast still on his leg, it was easy for the people around to assume what was going on.
"Darling, please don't leave me. I know I'm not as powerful as the president of Walker Group, but I love you, darling. Please give me a little time. Once my leg heals, I'll work hard. I won't lose to that president. Please believe me, darling. Please believe me just this once."
Tears streamed down Samuel's face as he desperately begged. "Think about it! We grew up together, and we were inseparable childhood sweethearts. Don't all those years we shared mean anything to you? Are they really worth less than a few encounters with Sky?"
By now, people around them had taken out their phones and started filming. Sierra's face turned pale, then flushed with anger and humiliation. In the end, she looked completely devastated.
Through gritted teeth, she snapped, "Samuel, must you be this shameless? Do you really have to drag innocent people into our mess?"
Tears filled Samuel's eyes as he looked at her. "I didn't want to do this either. But darling, tell me—what else can I do? You don't want me anymore. You want to be with another man. You're divorcing me for him. I don't even care about being cheated on, but I can't live in a world without you."
As he spoke, he lifted the speaker again and shouted, "Please, everyone, I beg you—help me talk to my wife. Please ask her not to divorce me. As long as she doesn't leave me, I'll agree to anything. I can't live without her. I really can't!"
