The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 303

Lilly slipped through the crowd, stopping right in front of Lucas and Sarah.

The moment Sarah saw her, she went pale and ducked behind Lucas. “Lilly, please, don’t hit me again. Please.”

Lucas stepped in front of Sarah, glaring at Lilly with clear disgust. “What do you want now?”

Lilly just smiled, cool and unbothered. “Sarah, are you really that scared of me? Or is it because you know you deserve what’s coming for you, stealing someone else’s boyfriend and all?”

The words hung in the air. The crowd around them sucked in a collective breath, then the whispers started.

“Did Lilly just call Sarah a homewrecker?”

“What’s going on between Lilly and Lucas anyway?”

Lucas’ face tightened. “Lilly, haven’t you caused enough trouble? Just leave.”

But Lilly didn’t budge. She let out a short laugh. “What’s wrong, Lucas? Worried everyone will find out we’re engaged? Scared they’ll realize you’re actually my fiancé?”

She felt so stupid. Lucas had never once made their relationship public. That should have told her everything.

Lucas opened his mouth to speak, but Lilly cut him off. “Let’s end it, Lucas. I’m calling off the engagement.”

He froze, looking at her like he couldn’t believe what he’d just heard.

Their families had always been close. Lucas’ parents had practically ordered him to win over the Lynch family’s heiress. So he’d played along, acting sweet, giving compliments, pretending to care. It was all too easy.

Lilly had always been trailing after him, sharing snacks, inviting him to do fun things. She was so upbeat, always smiling, always bright. But to Lucas, she was just annoying.
