Sarah hesitated. Honestly, she hadn’t really thought about it before.
“Jessa, I want to be with Atlas…”
“Sarah, you need to stop waiting for Atlas. He and Emily already have their wedding date set. The Moore and Kostik families are joining forces, and that kind of alliance isn’t going anywhere. You should really start looking for someone new.”
Jessa leaned in a little closer. “The Matthis family is rock solid in Rockford Bay. Lucas has everything going for him—good looks, great reputation, and he’s from a fantastic family. The Lynch family picked him for Allie, so you know he’s the real deal. If you can get him, you’d be part of the Matthis family.”
Jessa made sense. Atlas was about to get married, and as much as Sarah liked him, she couldn’t waste her best years chasing after someone who’d never be hers.
She was only from a side branch of the Harmon family, and Ava had just humiliated her over that. She needed to find a good match. She needed to prove herself.
Right now, Lucas was the best opportunity she had.
The Lynch family chose Lucas, so he had to be amazing in every way.
If she could steal Lucas away, it would be the perfect way to get back at Lilly. Finally, she could hold her head up high.
Even as a minor member of the Harmon family, she could totally steal away the Lynch family’s daughter’s fiancé.
Jessa grinned. “Can you believe the campus heartthrob is engaged to someone so plain? Seriously, what guy wouldn’t pick a beautiful girl over someone like that? Sarah, you’ve got this. Lucas already got a thing for you.”
Sarah had always been good at keeping guys interested. She’d caught the way Lucas looked at her in the car earlier. She could tell he was into her.
What did Lilly have that could possibly keep Lucas? Nothing.
Sarah was the prettiest girl in campus, the dance department’s dream girl. Winning over Lucas would be easy.
She nodded. “Alright, Jessa. Just wait for my good news.”
“Lilly is waiting for Lucas to take her to the movies tonight. Sarah, it’s all yours.”
Sarah’s cheeks turned pink as she gave Jessa an “OK” sign.
