The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 262

David didn’t say another word. He just turned and walked away.

A wave of panic crashed over Monica. She’d been greedy, pretending to be Ella. Now, thanks to David, that choice had become the biggest mistake of her life.

Her whole world had fallen apart.

She looked at Hayden, clinging to the hope that he might save her.

Hayden didn’t come from money, but he was hardworking and ambitious. Over the years, he’d given her hundreds of thousands, always helping her family whenever there was trouble. She couldn’t let him slip away too.

“Hayden, I’m so sorry,” Monica sobbed, grabbing his hand. “This is all my fault. Please take me home. I’ll make things right between us. I promise.”

Hayden yanked his hand away. “So now that you’re a mess, now that you’ve lost everything in Rockford Bay, I’m suddenly good enough for you? I see you for what you are now. You are selfish, and you don’t deserve me!”

He turned and started to walk off.

“Hayden, don’t leave me! Did you forget? I’m pregnant with your baby. You can’t just walk away from us!”

Hayden glanced at her belly. “That baby is just another one of your pawns. You’re not fit to be a mom. If you really care about it, you should go to the hospital and end the pregnancy yourself.”

With that, he left without looking back.

Monica had lost it all. Every dream, every hope, gone. She was completely alone.

“No! You can’t just do this to me! What am I supposed to do now?” Monica broke down, sobbing uncontrollably.

Ella, Lilly, and Fiona finished their dinner at a nearby restaurant and stepped out into the night.

“Ella, how do you think Monica’s birthday party is going?” Lilly asked as they walked.

“Mr. Harmon showed up, and she’s supposedly pregnant with his baby. She must be living her dream right now,” Ella replied.

“Mr. Harmon is such a jerk,” Fiona said, rolling her eyes.
