Chapter 1406: Alchemists For Rue

Karl brought the four Alchemists to the other side of the Illusionary Domain, and then adjusted the spell to create a proper Alchemy lab for them to work in, with clear walls, so those not actively working could watch from a safe location.

"First off, I will give everyone the basic skills that they will need to know to actually follow this course. You do all have Alchemy as a basic trade skill, right? Not a speciality version of Alchemy, or some Alchemy related equivalent? I’m not sure how any of those will function with this attempt to upgrade." Karl asked.

The dragons chuckled at his question. "Is it so easy to get upgraded versions of trade skills? Just getting to the upper levels of Alchemy is already a lifetime of work for most people, asking them to max it out and start on an upgraded version is a bit much, especially at our age."

Karl shrugged. "Fortunately, this doesn’t require that you have maxed out your Alchemy, only that it is of reasonable quality, and that you have the intelligence and class to go with it.

Shamans are best, mages work well, but Nature Clerics and other plant loving classes are also acceptable. Honestly, Nature Clerics are best sent to the cooking skill. It’s more like home to them."

The dragons nodded in understanding and Flicker rolled her eyes. "Well, we didn’t think to bring a green dragon with us. Asking them to do anything is usually a last resort if the task will take more than one day."

"One whole day is being optimistic." Karl agreed.

Then he reached out and placed his hand on the two closest dragons to activate [Follow Me, Little One].

The last one was left in confusion as the girls gasped and Flicker laughed, then Karl finished the process by ruffling her curly black hair.

"Oh, so it’s like that. Physical contact is a condition of the spell. I have a few skills that are the same, physical contact range only. It makes sense if you’re trying to create a skill that avoids the possibility of targeting errors.

I wonder if this skill was originally something that a Spellcrafter made before it was included in a Skill Tree? Or is it part of your skill tree at all?" She asked.

"It is part of my skill tree. It’s a peculiarity of the Beast Master chain of classes. They are highly attuned to magical beasts, so affection and bonding are a theme through many of the skills." Karl explained.

"And what is this one called, according to the System?" She asked.

"Are you sure you want to know?"

All four dragons nodded their heads in unison.

"It’s called [Follow Me, Little One]. The notifications that you got are personalized by the System, though. I don’t choose them, or get to see what it calls you." Karl replied.

"That makes sense. There is no way that you would know how much I love chocolate chips." The curly haired girl laughed.

"I will put that on the list if we have anyone in the research group that is interested in cooking. But I am certain that someone in the kitchen here can accommodate a chocolate obsessed sweet tooth.

I know that it must be severe if the System saw fit to mention it."

The dragon laughed, and then took out a giant back of chocolate from her inventory.
