Silence.
Endless silence drifted over the top of Scarlett Jennings’ head.
For the first time in a while, her awkward middle-schooler syndrome acted up again. Facing the gazes around her, she cleared her throat and pretended to be calm,
"Ahem... alright."
In the observation seats, alongside Scarlett were people from the Mystic Regulation Office and the Academy’s Demon Masters.
Coincidentally, among these Demon Masters were those who had participated in suppressing the Young Demon Class’s collective strike incident.
At that moment, one couldn’t help but smile, looking at Scarlett,
"Lucas is still so popular, huh?"
Scarlett smiled politely.
Suddenly, a Demon Master next to her sneered,
"The academy prohibits forming cliques. I remember that was one of the rules Lucas rectified previously. How come you forgot it yourself?"
He didn’t wait for Scarlett to speak and looked at the Young Demons below, showing dissatisfaction,
"As the future Imps of the Demon Clan, being so easily influenced and led astray, don’t they know any better?"
Though Scarlett found the Young Demons’ middle-schooler behavior embarrassing, she couldn’t pretend she heard nothing when they were criticized as clueless.
She turned to him, her voice calm,
"Just because they shouted a slogan doesn’t mean they’re clueless. If you like pre-class lectures, does that also count as clueless?
You’re a century-old Demon Master, not a century-old fossil. Perhaps you’ve heard the human saying, ’You’re not young if you’ve never had a cringe phase.’ Is there a problem with the future Imps having a little bit of it?"
Scarlett’s words weren’t polite. Seeing the Demon Master about to retort, she suddenly raised her eyebrows at him, earnestly adding,
"The soul of middle-school syndrome never dies, the flames of passion never extinguish!"
Though Scarlett was technically a young Imp based on age, given her consistent calm and steady personality in the Academy, her serious recitation of such a slogan made the people around her show expressions of disbelief.
The Demon Master felt his mouth twitch, thinking Scarlett was deliberately being obnoxious.
"This is the Academy of Mystique, not those human schools. These words are useless aside from being laughable!"
Just as his voice fell, an excited shout suddenly rang out from somewhere in the hall,
"So cool!! Give it your all! Smash them all!"
Everyone turned to see Lucas Jennings, in his canine demon form, suddenly standing up, cheering loudly for the Young Demons below.
Just a minute ago, hearing the Imps shout out that cringe slogan in unison had visibly startled Lucas, and he couldn’t help his curiosity,
"Who’s their leader? Someone so impressive?"
Getting so many followers.
Beside him, Hannah Hearne smiled, "Didn’t you hear who they were shouting for? Their leader is Scarlett."
Lucas was once again taken aback.
Not just him, even Adam and Donovan couldn’t hide their surprise.
Scarlett having followers? A whole group of them?
Looks like she’s doing remarkably well at the Academy of Mystique...
Thinking so, Lucas was already invigorated.
Look at them down there, all his sister’s followers.
As her little brother, he had to be one of them too!
So he stood up and shouted encouragement.
His voice was sudden, yet he felt no embarrassment.
Quite a few people in the venue looked at Lucas, somewhat puzzled, "Which class is this canine demon from? Never seen him before?"
"Don’t know him, doesn’t look like he’s from the Academy of Mystique, how did he get in?"
The Young Demons below were also curious, not knowing where this canine demon came from.
Lucas still felt no embarrassment, seeing no one echo him, he shouted a couple more times, even directly inviting those beside him to shout with him.
