Compared to Stella Gibson’s excitement, Scarlett Jennings, after an initial moment of surprise, showed no trace of astonishment but rather looked composed,
"Is there something wrong with this bed?"
Stella was momentarily stunned, "Is there nothing wrong?"
"Greta is an Undying Bone, a coffin suits him perfectly."
Stella let out a sound, her baby face suddenly showing a hint of conflict,
"That’s true, but how do they know that Greta’s true form is a zombie?!"
Undying Bone differentiates itself in appearance from ordinary zombies. Going even further, after bringing him back to the clan, she purposely used secret methods to conceal the foul aura from his body.
One could say that from appearance to aura, aside from slightly paler skin, he is almost indistinguishable from ordinary people!
It’s strange enough for him to be recognized at a glance, not to mention... who keeps a coffin in a room at home!
"Besides, this is a top-quality Phoebe coffin!
Growing up, I’ve only ever gotten a miniature coffin made of sandalwood when my grandfather gave it to me upon entering the Taoism Academy."
Stella spoke while taking detailed shots of the coffin for Scarlett,
"Look at this craftsmanship; even our clan’s uncle who specializes in coffins hasn’t made one this exquisite..."
Stella was babbling on, while Scarlett grew increasingly calm.
"This can only mean that right from the first encounter, or upon entering the village, the other party had already seen through all our identities."
From Jasmine Hamilton, Grace, to Greta, even her relationship with Samuel Chalmers seemed transparent to these villagers.
Although she didn’t know how they recognized everything at a glance, she seemed to confirm one thing.
"So far, I haven’t detected any malice from these people, indeed, they’ve used what they perceive as the highest standards to welcome us."
How can this not be seen as quite considerate?
Stella almost got persuaded, opened her mouth to say something, but then heard Scarlett say,
"Let’s rest well tonight; the village chief said anything else can be discussed tomorrow."
Even though Scarlett said that, she still advised Stella to set up a protective array in the room before sleeping.
Scarlett would naturally do the same.
Samuel watched her busy herself in the room for quite a while, only saying,
"Tonight, stay here with Grace; I’ll sleep in the next room."
"Why?" Scarlett turned with what seemed like confusion at his decision.
Samuel glanced at her, his tone somewhat helpless,
"Are you forgetting we are not a real married couple?"
Just engaged, not married, it wasn’t appropriate for him to share a room with her; it would be awkward for her and improper for him.
Seeing Scarlett wanted to argue further, Samuel just said,
"I have some idea about what’s happening in this village, rest assured, I’ll be fine alone."
Samuel said and started heading out, only for Scarlett to suddenly grab him,
"Engaged is engaged, as your fiancée, I have the responsibility to ensure your safety. Stay here, don’t go anywhere."
While saying that, she seemed to think leaving him to sleep forcibly was odd, glanced at Grace beside them, and added,
"We’ll sleep together, all three of us."
Samuel:...
Grace:...Feeling an inexplicable chill.
Finally, Grace obediently went back to her true form, Scarlett and Samuel each took half the bed, with the system turtle in the middle.
System Turtle:...
Feeling it endured the longest and most painstaking night of its turtle life.
Scarlett and Samuel slept soundly.
Even Scarlett felt like she was enveloped in spiritual energy upon waking.
