The assistant of Samuel Chalmers calmly held the box, watching his boss Samuel and the future Mrs. Chalmers playing hand-in-hand games.
On the other side, Adam Jennings walked out of the venue empty-handed, looking at the Benedict Beast in the glass box on the car seat beside him. His tone was somewhat defeated,
"It’s not that I don’t want to buy it for you. Everything you liked was auctioned off by others, and you didn’t like what was left."
The Benedict Jade did not respond, but the carved eyes of the jade seemed to be staring at him through the glass.
Adam felt a strange chill in his heart as it stared at him,
"Fine, I’ll take you to see something else."
Feeling the sensation of being watched was not as intense as before, Adam finally started the car.
After some thought, he reached out and turned the box so that the Benedict’s head was facing forward.
To gather more jade materials that Benedict liked, Adam brought the jade body of Benedict to see the materials for two consecutive days.
Just after acquiring a good piece of material, he received a phone call from his dad.
"Adam, what have you been up to recently? Why have there been several million-dollar expenditures over the past few days?"
Michael Jennings fainted when he learned that the Fetal Soul of the snake fetus inside him had been scared away, only to find out later that Adam had taken the opportunity to promise three percent of Sea Sky Entertainment to Scarlett Jennings while he was unconscious.
He’s still feeling the pain from that.
Watching Adam waste money like this, he felt his son was becoming increasingly "rebellious."
"Adam, let me tell you, don’t follow other second-generation rich kids into nightclubs or keep female students, I forbid it! Your grandfather and uncle won’t allow it either!
Just go to school and behave..."
Finally extricating himself from his father’s inescapable lectures, Adam’s expression became somewhat unpleasant.
Nightclubs and keeping people, is he that kind of person?!
If one must say he’s keeping something, it would be a stone!
Adam felt inexplicably like he’d been extorted and still had to provide lifelong service.
He couldn’t help but look at the Benedict in his hands,
"How long will you keep eating before it’s enough?"
Of course, Benedict couldn’t answer.
And even if it could, it would only say one word.
Hungry.
Because it was the weekend, Adam took Benedict to a friend’s Jade Firm that had a jade mine.
He had previously informed his friend to reserve any good material for him.
Before Michael’s call, he had just received a message from his friend saying there was a new batch of good materials.
So Adam brought Benedict to the store, but upon entering the reception room, he didn’t see his friend. Instead, he saw a familiar face.
It was the Jade Cabbage they had seen at the auction that day!
Oh no, Grace.
"It’s you?!"
Adam was a bit surprised to meet her again so soon. "What are you doing here?"
Could she be pretending to be some master again?
Though his expression didn’t change much, Grace caught the hint of doubt in his eyes, instantly making her angry,
"What’s with that look? Is there a problem with me being at a Jade Firm? Even though I made a little mistake before, I’m still an authentic Grace, okay?"
Adam didn’t admit to having doubted her subconsciously, just kept a stern face and said,
"I didn’t say anything."
Grace flashed a look of resentment, but soon lowered her gaze with a soft demeanor,
"I didn’t mean to trick you that day. I just sensed the spiritual energy from the Benedict you had, so I initiated the conversation."
She added,
"You know, as a Grace, I’m particularly sensitive to these things."
"Oh."
Adam had no intention of continuing the conversation with her, looking at the assistant who had come in to serve the tea, unable to resist asking,
"Where’s your Mr. Shen? Called me over and doesn’t even show up himself."
The assistant quickly apologized,
"Mr. Shen just got an unexpected call and said he’d be back soon. Please wait here for a while."
Adam didn’t like to wait and directly instructed the assistant,
