Chase Jennings handled this matter poorly.
Anyone from a respectable family wouldn’t do such a thing.
This time, even Flora Xalvadora couldn’t find words to excuse her son, and Blaise Jennings reacted swiftly with a slap to Chase’s head,
"What kind of thing have you done?!"
Regardless of what Azura Loomis had done to the family, receiving such a gift would make anyone uneasy.
Chase actually understood this.
But at the time, he instinctively thought of the necklace as a potential birthday gift.
Because of the gift issue, the night ended on a sour note.
Blaise Jennings directly commanded him to return to his room and reflect thoroughly; if he couldn’t, he was told not to attend Scarlett Jennings’ birthday party the next day.
Chase had messed things up and didn’t have the face to ask Scarlett for help anymore.
Yet he still felt aggrieved.
Even if he hadn’t handled things well, his intention to give her a gift was genuine.
How could she disregard him just because of a bit of unhappiness?
With this mindset, Chase washed up and went to sleep.
The next morning, he left early to prepare another gift, but when he returned that evening, he was stopped at the door by security.
"Hello, the Jennings Family is hosting an event today. Only invited guests may enter."
Chase became impatient, "Do you realize who I am?!"
This time, there was no moment of recognition from the security guard; the guard continued to look at him steadily, then without emotion,
"Sorry, but do you have an invitation?"
Chase pointed at himself, nearly laughing out of frustration,
"I’m part of the Jennings Family, why would I need an invitation! Look closely, I’m Chase Jennings! Young Master Chase!"
With his words, he saw the security guard’s odd expression, as if looking at a madman.
Thinking of his recent changes, Chase suddenly had an ominous feeling.
"Go call Lucas Jennings for me; he can prove I am Chase!"
The security was a bit troubled, but Lucas Jennings heard the commotion and came over, flanked by a few teenagers he was friendly with. Walking up, somewhat displeased,
"What’s all the noise? Today’s my sister’s birthday, if anyone bothers her, I’ll bother them back!"
The security was about to explain, but Chase had already stepped toward Lucas,
"Lucas, perfect timing, this guy says he doesn’t recognize me, sort this out."
Saying so, he hurried inside to find Scarlett, only to be stopped by the vigilant security guard.
Lucas and the teenagers blocked the doorway, raising their chins, questioning him,
"Who are you?! Just barging in without seeing where you are? How did you get in?"
"Exactly! Who are you?!"
Though Chase found it hard to endure at this point, he couldn’t help but grow anxious,
"I am Chase Jennings! Your brother!"
As Chase said that, the surroundings fell silent for a moment.
Lucas and his friends widened their eyes, and the next second, burst into laughter.
Chase, irritated by their laughter, restrained his anger and said, 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
"Lucas, I know you’re angry about last night and want to tease me, but this joke isn’t funny; let me go inside first."
Lucas managed to stop laughing, looking at Chase with a gaze full of mystery,
"Who do I know to prank you? My brother is Chase Jennings, and he’s over there!"
Donovan heard about a lunatic claiming to be Chase and wanting to see Scarlett, and came out of caution.
But when his hazel eyes swept over, his words shook Chase to his core.
"This person is Harry Whitley, I basically know what stunt he’s pulling tonight; go fetch Chase, let’s have him deal with it."
Donovan said, turning to leave.
Chase snapped out of it, desperately calling Brother Donovan, trying to make him remember him.
Though unsure of whatever trap had caught him, he was certain this matter involved Harry Whitley.
If that was the instigator, how would Donovan handing him over result in anything good?
"Brother Donovan! Brother! I’m truly Chase Jennings! Look at me... or call Scarlett Jennings, she definitely can tell who I am, have her come..."
Initially ignoring Chase’s pleas, Donovan, versed in the world of elite families, had seen his share of peculiar happenings.
But hearing the latter part of his words, Donovan hesitated for a moment.
Turning to look at him again, his gaze carried an icy danger, yet his voice remained elegantly pleasant,
"I don’t care what drama you’re trying to fabricate, but if you try dragging Scarlett into this, I assure you your days will be tougher than those in prison."
Donovan finished speaking, dismissing him with a glance and walked away.
Shortly after Donovan left, sure enough, the guards brought "Chase" over.
However, he wasn’t alone; there was another person with him.
Upon recognizing the person by his side, Chase felt a cold chill sweep over him.
Standing next to "Chase," wearing a gorgeous gown, was Ava Zimmerman.
The scar on her face had somehow healed.
She smiled at him, her features... inexplicably resembling Azura Loomis.
