Leonard and Simone both turned their eyes to Joshua.
Simone, already on her way here, had learned all about what happened.
Leonard never openly admitted to anything, but Simone knew her older brother all too well. The person who destroyed Stella’s hand was almost certainly him—she’d have put money on it.
He had always been unable to bear seeing Aurora suffer any sort of injustice.
Upon hearing the news, Simone was almost giddy with excitement.
Big brother had really gone and taken care of her biggest threat—Stella was no longer a problem.
Aurora had once told her that the person Joshua was after was most likely Stella.
But now Stella could never play the violin again. The music she performed before could never be recreated.
With that, all hope of uncovering the truth had vanished.
There was no longer any risk of being exposed, and Simone could hardly contain her delight.
Leonard, hearing Joshua’s words, looked over at him.
He remembered very clearly: that day, Joshua had called Sellers first, and he was certain Joshua was with Sellers.
Leonard had considered whether Joshua might be bluffing, but he couldn’t take that chance.
Traveling to Sandford to kidnap Stella had been a gamble in itself.
Ruining Stella’s hand had made them mortal enemies.
He’d come so close—just a little more, and he could have taken Stella away with him.
