The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance novel Chapter 962

She forced a wan smile in their direction. “The shares my mother left me are about to be unlocked.”

“As soon as they are, I’ll be eligible to join the Williams Group and take part in the company’s major decisions.”

Jonathan’s face darkened. He blurted out, “But you don’t know anything about business. Taking part in company decisions—aren’t you just messing around?”

Stella’s expression didn’t change. “It’s all right. If I don’t know something, I can learn.”

Jonathan frowned. “Business isn’t something you can just pick up overnight, you—”

Before he could finish, Haynes cut him off.

“If she doesn’t know, I can teach her. Abby told me Star isn’t just a brilliant violinist—she’s always been top of her class too. With her intelligence, as long as she has someone guiding her, she’ll be able to master the essentials of business within a year. That won’t be a problem.”

Stella glanced at Jonathan’s stormy expression and continued with a gentle smile, “Originally, I planned to set a date for the family reunion dinner with Father after my competition. But now that my hand’s injured, I’ll need some time to recover. I’m afraid it won’t be possible this month.”

She thought for a moment, then added, “Why don’t we do it next month? On the very day my shares are unlocked, I’ll return to the Williams family. That way, we can celebrate both occasions together.”

Jonathan opened his mouth to object, but Skyler quietly stopped him.

Skyler smiled. “If Star wants this, I see no reason to object.”

“Good,” Stella replied. “Then it’s settled.”

With that, the conversation drifted to lighter topics. After offering some words of concern, Skyler and Jonathan left the hospital room together.

Once they had stepped outside, Jonathan finally let his frustration show.

“Father, are you really planning to let Stella join the Williams Group? Running a company isn’t child’s play. Stella doesn’t have any background in business—honestly, she wouldn’t even qualify for a receptionist job, let alone an executive position.”

Skyler sighed. “Star’s hand suffered a terrible injury; it’s only natural she feels wronged. This whole mess—Leonard went too far. You can’t blame Star for being upset. Now that her hand is ruined, she needs something to occupy her.”
