Even when Israel and Coleman tried to reassure her that Leonard was likely just putting on an act, Aurora's expression remained grim.
Joshua Gardner stood by the window, observing Leonard and the butler as they strolled leisurely through the Williams family's garden, occasionally taking out a phone to snap pictures.
Leonard seemed genuinely relaxed, not like he was faking it at all.
No wonder the Williams family was stumped. Even Joshua was having a hard time figuring him out.
They debated for half an hour without reaching any conclusion.
At this rate, another two hours would yield the same result.
Joshua was tired of hearing them go around in circles, endlessly debating whether Leonard had some hidden agenda or was just using this as a pretext.
He commented dryly, "You've considered so many possibilities. Have you ever considered that Leonard genuinely wants to cut ties with you?"
Israel scoffed. "If he really wanted to break things off with Aurora, why would he offer her three percent of his company?
"Isn't he just trying to make her feel guilty so she'll be the one to speak up?
"Hah, don't think I can't see what he's doing.
"He's just being dramatic!"
Joshua glanced at Israel. "Or, is it possible that Leonard knows you, the Williams family, won't let him go easily without getting something out of it?
"So he's decided to cut his losses and make a clean break?"
Stella's thoughts stirred at his words.
Like the rest of the Williams family, she had been convinced that Leonard had an ulterior motive.
But Joshua's words gave her pause.
Could it be that Leonard truly wanted to give up on Aurora?
