The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance novel Chapter 1097

Haynes’s brow furrowed slightly—a sure sign he was running out of patience.

Stella calmly prepared to look away.

But as if sensing her presence, Haynes turned and looked directly at her, his gaze unwavering.

The moment his eyes landed on her, something lit up inside them.

Without another word, he left Queenie’s side and strode purposefully toward Stella.

Queenie had been in the middle of an animated conversation when she suddenly realized Haynes had walked off without so much as a goodbye.

The smile froze on her face.

She glanced around, only to spot Stella standing a short distance away.

A glint of coldness flashed in her eyes.

Upstairs, in one of the guest rooms, Keen cradled the gift Foreman had given him, grinning with pure delight.

“Thank you, Mr. Richards. I really like this present.”

Foreman smiled, ruffling Keen’s hair affectionately as he probed for news about Stella.

“Have you been staying with the Williams family lately, Keen?”

Keen nodded enthusiastically. “Yes. Grandpa takes me on walks around the estate every day.”

“Doesn’t your mom keep you company?” Foreman asked.

“When she has some free time, she’ll cook for me herself,” Keen replied. “But when she’s busy with work, I might not see her for days.”

A flicker of calculation passed through Foreman’s eyes. “And what about Joshua? Does he spend more time with you or your mom?”

“Most of the time, he’s with Mom,” Keen said. “Mr. Joshua says this place isn’t as safe as back home—there are a lot of bad people here—so he needs to stay close and keep her safe.”

Foreman skillfully steered the conversation, digging for more details about Stella and Joshua’s relationship.
