"Any one of them could handle both their families, let alone when they team up!"
Just because they heard a few words in the group chat, they had rushed over to help, which was unprecedented in Chloe’s life. Having friends around was really nice.
"You seem pretty happy." Damon tilted his head to look at her, keenly sensing her mood.
Chloe smiled, "Yeah... having friends around feels really good."
Damon turned his head to look at her, the satisfaction on her face touched his heart. As he stole a kiss from her upturned lips, their eyes met.
"Having a husband around would feel even better. Wanna give it a try?"
"First off, you'd have to become my husband." 9820.78Chloe gave his shoulder a little push, "Alright, let's go home."
Nate swerved the car around.
Carolina walked a few steps towards the car, out of curiosity, but only saw the shadow of Damon's car.
She could see two figures in the backseat of the car, but she couldn’t make out who they were.
"They just left like that, and I wanted to go back and get some credit for my help, but they beat me to it!" Kane grumbled, looking at the people around him, his face once again boasting arrogance. "I'll remember this! Keep your tail between your legs."
As Kane and his group were about to leave, Carolina suddenly said, "Mr. Ziems, could you tell me who picked up Chloe just now?"
Kane stopped in his tracks, recalling Chloe's warning glance before she left, "Why should I tell you?"
"Chloe is my granddaughter, I think I have the right to know about her current situation..."
Kane blinked, suddenly bursting into laughter, "Ha! You're too funny..." he turned to look at Carolina, "Since she's your own granddaughter, why do you need to ask me about her life?"
"..."
"I'm speechless, I can't understand how you guys can have such weird thoughts! If you really want to know, I'll give you a hint... Well? Her current situation is similar to ours, nothing to brag about!"
With a look of disdain, Kane glanced at Carolina and left with the others.
Amelia was frustrated. Watching Kane and his group about to leave, she ran out and yelled,
"You all were fooled by that woman Chloe! I'm telling you, Chloe is a devious and bad woman, those scandals about her are not unfounded! Don't let her lower your standards."
Kane stopped, looked down at his expensive leather shoes. He scratched the back of his head, muttered,
"A devious and bad woman?"
As Kane turned and walked into the room, Amelia approached and nodded, "Yes, if you don't believe it, you can ask... Ah!!"
Before Amelia could finish her sentence, a crisp slap echoed followed by a scream. When everyone came back to their senses, they found Kane had turned around and slapped Amelia hard on the face.
Amelia was stunned, looking up at Lance, tears streaming down her face.
"Grandpa!"
She turned to look at Kendal who had just arrived. Kendal snorted,
"Take her back! Don't come here again!"
Her mom, Sona’s face turned white. She had come back because she heard that Keira had an outstanding performance in an international competition, which would greatly benefit the development of the Olson Group. She wanted to secure a position in the company for Amelia so she could settle down and have some control over the company.
But now with this commotion, she didn't have the face to mention it, even if she did, it would surely be rejected.
But how could she be content with not getting a piece of the extraordinary company that was the Olson Group.
"Get lost! I really don't know how you raised your daughter, who did she learn this arrogance from! She's such an idiot! Wasn't the incident at the previous school celebration enough? Now look the trouble she caused!
"The five guests who just left, do you think our family afford to offend any of them? The power of any one of them could have a major impact on the Olson family! And you dared to provoke them! Now, they've severed ties with the Olson family. They won't help the Olson family in the future; they might even hinder our ventures! How will we survive in the business world?!"
Kendal’s words shocked everyone present. Most of them were here for the Olson Group, right? But now, before the Olson Group could even make a move, the path ahead was already blocked. How was anyone supposed to swallow that?
Everyone's eyes were now on Amelia, all wearing faces full of disgust.
