"How's the deal going with M Country?"
Bryson paused for a moment, his tone somewhat heavy. "From the looks of it, they're still favoring the Alonso family. Not just because of the family's influence back home, but also because of their relationship with Princess Ava. These are the reasons they're willing to work with the Alonsos. Plus, Princess Ava has specifically arranged for her people to assist Cole. It seems like they're going all out..."
Bryson paused again. "Our business has always been in H Country, while the Alonso family has been developing in M Country for decades. If we compete with the Alonso family there, our company might not be able to handle it."
Yasmine gripped her phone tightly and her calm eyes held a trace of gloom. After a moment of silence, Yasmine finally spoke, "Make some more concessions, and send someone to negotiate immediately."
Hearing Yasmine's noticeably cold tone, Bryson chose not to say anything further. Ava being adopted by Queen Julia was real, but despite knowing the real princess was still alive, she chose to keep quiet and even plotted to kill the real princess years later for her own status in the royal family.
Ava assumed someone else's identity and took over someone else's life and love. Even after enjoying all of it, she wanted to cover her tracks with murder.
If they were strangers, it would be one thing, but Ava was the only friend who visited Yasmine at the welfare home every day.
If Ava's mother hadn't been critically ill, if the hospital hadn't stopped her treatment, if Ava hadn't cried pitifully in front of Yasmine, Yasmine wouldn't have taken pity on her and given her the pair of gold bracelets she had worn since birth.
Then, none of this would have happened.
Yasmine had no intention of competing with Ava for anything, but Ava just wouldn't let Yasmine go. And now, she was even threatening Yasmine's daughter, Chloe.
Old grudges and new hatreds surged together, and even the most patient person couldn't just sit back and watch. Yasmine was genuinely angry. This reckless competition with the Alonso family, although risky, could result in 12% of the Alonso family's funds evaporating if successful.
Not loss, evaporation.
A loss is when you invest and don't make a profit. Evaporation, on the other hand, refers to a 12% reduction in the total shares of the entire Alonso family, including all its businesses, forcing a complete disappearance.
If they couldn’t defeat the Alonso family in one go, this blow was bound to hit them hard.
If 12% of the Alonso family's centuries-old foundation disappeared... The figure from a huge base multiplied by 12% could be more money than the entire Alonso family could spend in a lifetime.
This hit could go down in history in the business world.
......
Wendy numbly drove back to the company. As soon as she reached the top floor office, she saw the HR manager standing at the door.
"Ms. Wendy!"
Upon seeing Wendy, the manager came forward immediately.
Wendy was hit in the face with the resignation letter. Her eyes flickered, and she finally snapped back to reality.
Wendy had been hit with one blow after another today. Letting Chloe get her way, the company being gutted, having to go to court with so many artists, and now being publicly humiliated by a department manager... all of this almost consumed her with anger and resentment.
Wendy turned around, grabbed the HR manager by the collar, and yanked him to the ground. The man's head hit the ground with a "thud", and he was momentarily dazed. Before he had time to react, Wendy straddled him, grabbed his hair, and slammed his head against the ground several times.
"Do you think I'm easy to bully, huh? What do you mean, 'the way things are going'? Even if Infinity Media has no artists, I can still recruit new ones. Who said I would lose? You think I'm going to lose, huh?"
The manager immediately felt dizzy and nauseous. He frantically grabbed Wendy's shoulder and shoved her aside.
"You're freaking nuts!!"
Struggling to get up from the ground, he wobbled his way to the lobby. As he pressed the elevator button, he fumbled for his phone from his pocket and dialed a number, grumbling all the way.
"Hello! Is this StarWhispers? I'm the HR manager at Infinity Media, I got some juicy gossip for you. I just got beaten by Ms. Wendy from the Alonso family. I know all the dirt on Infinity Media, and I'm willing to spill it for free... I need to go to the hospital to check my injuries now. Alright! See you at the hospital!"
After hanging up, the HR manager, with his face covered in blood, turned around and glared at Wendy maliciously.
"Dreaming of a comeback? In your dreams! I'll make you pay for this! Dumbass!!"
