The Divorce Prescription (Celina and Adam) novel Chapter 783

Celine smiled and said, "I didn't leave."

"Are you going to? Right now, not seeing you makes me think you're taking Bella and leaving me," Adam lamented.

Celine stayed quiet.

Adam continued, "I know you want to keep your distance so I won't suffer from the Heartstring Venom. But Celine, I'm scared of losing you and Bella more than the pain from that venom.

"No matter what challenges come our way, we can face them together. Don't back down, okay? Don't leave me again. It's already been three years. I can't go through losing you and Bella for another three years and then another."

While listening to his confession, Celine raised her hand and pressed it against the door. Right now, she wanted to see him badly, but they had to keep speaking through the door for his sake.

She smiled softly. "Adam, I promise you, I won't leave."

No matter how hard life got, they would get through it as long as they faced it together.

Adam's lips lifted into a small smile. "Celine, I've been waiting for you to say that."

Outside the door, Nigel and Fiona were both moved as they watched them stand together through adversity.

Nigel stepped forward. "Adam, we're partly responsible for what happened with the Heartstring Venom. But now that Celine is our goddaughter, you can rest easy. We're going to help you both."

Adam froze. He didn't know Nigel and Fiona had made Celine their goddaughter. "Mr. Hampton, Mrs. Hampton, you and Celine…"

Fiona smiled. "Mr. Alvarez, we both really like Celine, so we made her our goddaughter. We're planning a formal gathering to announce it publicly. From now on, we'll love and cherish her like our own."

Adam smiled, genuinely happy. He knew Nigel and Fiona would be great parents, and because Celine now had two more people to love her, he couldn't be more grateful.

Nigel patted Adam on the shoulder. "Funny how things come full circle. You're still my son-in-law in the end, and I'm still your father-in-law."

Then, something seemed to occur to him. "But I remember you saying once that you'd never marry anyone from the Hampton family—"

"No!" Adam immediately cut him off, realizing he had just walked into his own trap.
