Adam pressed his thin lips together. "Linny is a young woman."
What? Linny was a young woman?
Melody looked at Adam. "Adam, have you met Linny?"
"Mr. Alvarez, you've actually met Linny? Then, tell us, what kind of person is she?" someone else asked.
Adam's expression remained neutral. "I only saw her back. She's very young."
Carly felt uneasy. Adam had actually seen Linny? When did this happen?
They were all vixens trying to seduce Adam.
Just then, a commotion erupted nearby. Someone exclaimed, "Look! Where did this beautiful woman come from?"
Adam lifted his head and saw Celine.
Celine had arrived in a black spaghetti-strap mermaid dress. Her pure, silky hair was elegantly pinned up, and the delicate straps revealed her creamy shoulders and beautiful collarbones.
The mermaid silhouette hugged her slender waist perfectly, and with each step, her flawless waist-to-hip ratio swayed enticingly. The moment she stepped in, the entire room was in an uproar.
In an instant, every gaze landed on Celine.
"Wow, she's stunning."
"She looks like a goddess coming to earth. Her pure and refined aura is breathtaking."
"I'd say she's the most beautiful one here tonight."
Everyone around was praising Celine, while Carly's and Melody's expressions stiffened.
Melody added, "Exactly! The Apex Gala is for the elites on the Billionaires List. Your being here drags down the level of this event. You should leave at once."
Carly and Melody tried to force Celine out. If they could drive her away at the Apex Gala, she would become a laughingstock.
Adam pressed his lips together, then stepped beside Celine. "With me here, let's see who dares to kick her out!"
He turned to Celine. "Celine, don't be afraid. I'll protect you."
Celine glanced at Adam. "Mr. Alvarez, I don't need your protection because no one can make me leave."
Carly scoffed. "Celine, you really are shameless. I'm calling the organizers to kick you out right now!"
She then raised her voice and shouted, "Organizers! Where are the organizers?"
Soon, the event organizers hurried over. "Ms. Hampton, how can we assist you?"
