In the quiet moment, Aurelia muttered under her breath, "Men have it easy. They don't feel pain the first time."
Speechless, Leopold might not feel pain, but her teasing kindled a fire in him that he couldn't quell, leaving him even more uncomfortable.
"If you dare to overstep the line even by an inch, I'll make sure you suffer!"
He was decided. If she dared to provoke him again, he would immediately escalate the situation and squash any thought she might be harboring!
Aurelia got the message. She was so terrified that her eyes widened, filled with dread.
Rising to his feet, Leopold tied his bath towel around his waist and walked toward the bathroom. A cold shower was necessary to cool down!
Fleeing to her room, Aurelia jumped onto the bed, pulled up the quilt, and wrapped herself up to her neck.
That was a close call. She almost lost her chastity.
Now she was certain that there was nothing wrong with him.
The claim that he couldn't sleep with a woman was probably a lie to fool Elowen. He just didn't want to sleep with her.
He was a liar!
Before falling asleep, she made sure to lock the door securely to prevent the beast next door from pouncing on her in the middle of the night.
That night, Leopold had a restless sleep, with a fire burning within him.
In contrast, Aurelia fell asleep quickly and slept until daylight.
In the morning, she played some soothing music and performed prenatal yoga on the spacious balcony. Even while pregnant, she thought maintaining her figure was essential. She couldn't let her body become fat and bloated, revealing her pregnancy too obviously, or else it would be easily noticed even in the later stages.
When she finished her yoga and turned around, she saw Leopold lounging in the doorway, holding a cup of coffee, watching her with interest.
"Good morning, Mr. Leopold."
Leopold curled the corner of his mouth in a grin that wasn't quite a smile. "You're quite keen on keeping your figure. No wonder you haven't gained any weight."
Evelyn was another Kelly. Working under her meant there would be no chance for improvement or a bright future. Of course, she would have to seek greener pastures.
Leopold's eyes darkened, as if shrouded by a shadow. A chill slowly gathered.
"Are you threatening me?"
Aurelia shook her head, smiling faintly. "If I lose, it means I'm not skilled enough and need to improve myself. There's nothing wrong with reevaluating my career path, is there?"
In truth, she knew that in his heart, Evelyn was the ideal director. He had probably planned to parachute Evelyn in when he demoted Kelly.
But she didn't want to give up. She wanted to give it a shot, not just for herself but for her four colleagues too.
Even a salted fish should have a chance to turn over!
Leopold fell silent.
All this time, he had controlled everything, even when Chad wanted to change the heir, it didn't bother him because he had already established his own corporation and gained his own power secretly.
