Aurelia was in awe of his stamina, having managed to exhaust an entire pack of contraceptives.
Returning home, she collapsed onto her bed, too exhausted to even keep her eyes open.
The spring in Elysium was often rainy. For several consecutive days, a gentle rain would start to fall every evening.
A mile away from Blossom Villa, there was a small park. After dinner, Aurelia would usually don her black face mask, grab her tote, and take a leisurely walk through the park under her large umbrella.
The park was incredibly tranquil, rarely visited by pedestrians. Occasionally, some couples could be found engaged in making love.
The twilight at the club was dark, and the rain persisted.
‘Aurelia’ had not yet returned home and was walking alone on the path paved with cobblestones.
A shadow quietly followed behind her. Seeing no one around, he eerily called out, “Aurelia!”
‘Aurelia’ turned around, “Are you calling me?”
The man was holding a bottle. Upon recognizing her, he quickly uncorked it.
A pungent, corrosive smell instantly filled the air, followed by a clear liquid splashing towards her.
She reacted swiftly, using her large umbrella, made of special material resistant to bullets and corrosion, to shield herself from the liquid.
Seeing this, the man panicked and attempted to flee, but was blocked by two men in black.
With a swift kick, she knocked him down and swiftly restrained him.
“Take him away for questioning.”
“Yes.”
She was awaiting good news from someone, but she didn’t expect Leopold to show up.
“Leopold, if you are going to stop by, why don’t you call ahead so I could prepare?”
A chilling glint flashed in Leopold's eyes as he grabbed her hair and flung her onto the sofa, “Did you plan to disfigure Aurelia with sulfuric acid?”
Megan instantly realized that the man behind her had failed and quickly played dumb, “I don't know what you're talking about. What happened to Aurelia?”
Leopold’s eyes were icy cold, radiating murder, “Whether you understand or not, if Aurelia is harmed, I will make you pay double.”
His voice was as cold as ice, causing the air around them to freeze.
Megan shivered, “I don't know what happened, and it has nothing to do with me. I didn't do anything, I swear. Aurelia's life is tied to mine, so if she gets hurt, it won't benefit me at all. Why would I harm her? I'm not an idiot, and I just want to take care of my pregnancy and give birth to my child.”
“I will investigate it thoroughly, and if it has anything to do with you, don't even dream about giving birth to your child.” He spat out the threat.
