"It's fine," Aurelia waved off the concern, understanding the struggles of parenthood. She bent down to pick up the scattered contents of her purse, with Leah and Jelena jumping in to help.
Suddenly, Leah found a button-like object next to the vanity mirror.
She picked it up, inspected it, and gasped, "Aurelia, is this yours?"
"There was nothing there before, and it must be Aurelia's," Jelena reasoned.
Aurelia examined the object, "This isn't mine. Why is it in my purse?"
Leah whispered, "I think it's a micro-tracker."
"What?" Aurelia and Jelena queried in unison.
Jelena looked concerned, "Someone's tracking you?"
Aurelia's mind reeled. Who had put this in her bag? Could it be Yuna? Or was Leopold tracking her without her knowledge?
Jelena guided her back to her seat.
"Are you wondering who planted it?"
Aurelia nodded. If it was Leopold, it was less alarming than if it was someone else. Had it been someone else behind the scenes, it would certainly have spelled an attempt at backstabbing her.
She had already been tricked once, and she couldn't afford another slip-up. She needed to stay vigilant and protect her children.
Leah's eyes sparkled with mischief, "I have a friend who's good with this stuff. Let him modify it, then you can decide where it tracks."
That hit Megan in the gut.
Yesterday she went to the Stirling Mansion and asked Melissa to tell Jessica the good news about her pregnancy, wanting to get married early, not realizing that Jessica would simply ignore her.
She was furious. In her mind, Jessica was a stumbling block. She had to find a way to get her killed, and then the Stirling family would be in her hands.
Melissa jumped to Megan's defense, "Mom has agreed to legitimize Megan once the baby is born. She's legally married to Leopold and should be the matriarch of the Stirling family."
Jelena scoffed, "Are you stupid or just naive? If Aurelia and Leopold hadn't divorced, Elvis wouldn't have pursued Aurelia, and you would have had a chance. Now you have no chance at all. You're just shooting yourself in the foot. I've seen fools, but not like you, counting the money after being sold."
Melissa's face turned beet red, a mix of embarrassment and anger.
