The CEO's Unplanned Heir novel Chapter 458

After the weekly meeting, Aurelia made her way to the CEO's office.

Leopold was lounging in his executive chair, his voice lazily drifting across the room, “Good timing. Can you make me a cup of coffee?”

Aurelia shot him a playful side-eye and made him a cup of cappuccino. This time, she decorated the froth with ‘$’, a symbol of wealth.

“Mr. Leopold, you had someone outbid me for my necklace at the auction. Quite the double whammy, not only did you win over Elvis, but you also increased my value, creating anticipation for my new product.”

After the auction, he increased the price of his new product multiple times. Clearly, this was a calculated move on his part.

He truly was cunning, just like the fox.

Leopold glanced at his cup, a smirk playing on his lips, “So, you should behave.”

Aurelia was taken aback, “Have you heard about Katie's stand-in? There was an accident.”

His slender fingers tapped twice on the table, “You're quite well-informed.”

Aurelia settled into the couch, a mischievous glint in her eyes, “Do you think it was an accident or someone was trying to get rid of Katie?”

Leopold's smirk disappeared, his expression turning serious, “I'll handle it. You stay out of it.”

This annoyed her because he always had this tone with her.

“Can you be honest with me? Is Katie's child yours?”

What Leopold feared most was her impulsive actions. He stared at her, his expression becoming serious.

“You don't need to worry about Kane, just take care of yourself. If it wasn't for your impulsiveness three years ago, Liam wouldn't have…” He cut himself off, a shadow of sorrow crossing his eyes.

Liam was his eternal wound, one that would never heal.

Aurelia saw the pain spreading across his face and couldn't help feeling guilty. But she didn't regret her actions. In fact, she felt it was the best decision she had ever made.

If she had revealed William's true identity, he would have been forcibly taken away by the Stirling family, just like Kane, and separated from her, falling into danger.

“If you had been honest with me from the start and told me your plans, I wouldn't have had to risk my life. I'm not brave, and I fear death. Life is so beautiful, and I have so much more to accomplish. My family and children are waiting for me at home, so how could I bear to leave them? It was you who pushed me into a corner.”
