"It seems Mr. Cooper is dead set on wooing Director Aurelia away, but not for a director position this time. He's aiming for her hand in marriage."
"Director Aurelia is young and pretty, brimming with talent and outstanding capabilities. Post-divorce, she managed to secure a fortune worth billions. She’s an enticing piece of pie for any high society man."
"From the First Lady of Astral Enterprises to the First Lady of Ethereal Gems, it will cause a stir in the jewelry industry."
"Do you think Director Aurelia would accept Mr. Cooper?"
"Why wouldn't she? Mr. Cooper is the most sought-after bachelor in Elysium. Every woman wants to marry him. Especially now that Director Aurelia is vulnerable after her divorce, she might need a new love to heal. Who knows? They might even elope."
"But if she marries Mr. Cooper, would she leave Astral Enterprises?"
"That's still up in the air."
...
News spread quickly into the CEO's office.
Leopold's face was gloomy and clouded over.
“Damn it, Elvis. How dare you poach right within my company?” he swore inwardly.
"Did she throw away the flowers?"
Kevin whispered, "No, she put them in a vase."
Leopold's fists clenched, anger burning in his eyes. "Go tell the cleaner…"
Down in the Design Department, Aurelia returned from the break room with a cup of coffee to find her flowers missing.
"Where are my flowers?"
"The cleaner took them away. I thought it was your order," her assistant, Yuna, replied.
Aurelia frowned slightly. "I didn't give her any instructions. Please call her over."
Soon, the cleaner arrived.
Aurelia looked at him coldly. "That's my private business. I don't need to explain it to you. You can fire me if you're concerned about the company's interest. Anyway, I want to avoid any drama related to you."
Leopold's heart twisted into a knot. Aurelia could drive him crazy easily. Every time he saw her, he was on the edge of losing control.
"You will never have the chance to jump ship to Ethereal Gems, and don't think ever about marrying Elvis, not unless I'm dead."
Aurelia scoffed, feeling the irony. "Who do you think you are to control me? We’re divorced, and you still want me to be devoted to you? In your dreams!"
Leopold held back an impulse in his heart, feeling as if his organs were about to explode.
"Aurelia, I didn't mean…"
Suddenly, a knock on the door interrupted him. The secretary's voice came from outside. "Mr. Leopold, your wife is here."
This "wife" was like rubbing salt into Aurelia's wounds, deepening her pain and resentment.
"Mr. Leopold, I almost forgot you are a married man now. Please stop interfering in your ex-wife's affairs. Let’s part on good terms."
