The CEO's Unplanned Heir novel Chapter 377

Arnold held William into his arms, standing up. "Hungry, boy? How about some grub?"

"Yep." William nodded, wrapping his small arms around Arnold's neck, as if saying to Lisa, 'This is my dad, you can't take him away!'

Ignoring Lisa, Arnold took William and left.

Lisa felt like her heart was being shredded.

Some women foolishly believe that having a child can secure a man's heart. If Lisa hadn't cheated, Arnold might not have despised her so much and they could have maintained a cordial facade.

After lunch, the Stirling brothers left the island for the Stirling Mansion.

On New Year's Day, there was a family dinner.

Melissa, the fourth daughter of the Stirling family, had returned from abroad.

Leopold had four elder sisters, all living away from Elysium, only returning home for holidays.

Melissa was three years older than Leopold and was not yet married.

This was the first time Aurelia had met Melissa. She greeted Melissa politely, "Pleasure to meet you, Melissa!"

Melissa studied Aurelia, her brows furrowing slightly. She did not like Aurelia. In her opinion, the perfect sister-in-law was Megan.

When Megan was alive, Melissa was very close to her. They were as close as sisters.

She settled onto a couch, taking a sip of her coffee before saying, "Leopold, the day after tomorrow is Megan's remembrance day. I've arranged with Evelyn to pay our respects."

This was a calculated move, to put Aurelia in her place.

Aurelia's heart wavered. Was Megan's sudden appearance a reminder of her remembrance day? A call for Leopold to pay his respects?

However, Leopold didn't even believe that there were ghosts in this world.

Leopold's expression deepened slightly. He reached out an arm, pulling Aurelia close to his side.

"Melissa, you and Evelyn can go. I won't be joining," he said.

Beverley enjoyed spending time with Aurelia, the only member of the Stirling family who shared her interests.

Aurelia nodded and joined her in the garden.

Left alone, Leopold settled on the couch, pouring himself a cup of coffee.

Melissa glared at him, complaining, "Out of all the women in the world, why her?"

He took a small sip of his coffee, replying leisurely, "It was fate."

Melissa choked on her coffee. She was aware of the artificial insemination.

Elowen was a fool to shoot herself in the foot.

"If she had been faithful, it would have been fine. But she got involved with Arnold and even had a child. You're fine with all this?"

Leopold narrowed his eyes, his expression turned serious, "It wasn't her fault. I forced her to sign the divorce papers, and I drove her away. After the divorce, she had the freedom to be with whoever she wanted. We've mended our relationship now. The past is behind us. I don't want anyone bringing it up again."
