The CEO's Unplanned Heir novel Chapter 369

Aurelia took William to the hospital to visit Arnold.

Though Arnold was awake, he was in low spirits, his eyes blankly fixed on the ceiling.

"Arnold, I made you chicken noodle soup," Aurelia said with a soft smile.

William leaned against the hospital bed, tears welling in his eyes. "Daddy, does your hand hurt? I can blow on it for you."

He pouted, gently blowing on Arnold's injured wrist. The innocent voice of William brought Arnold back to reality. He raised his hand, gently patting William’s head and comforted him, "Don't worry, Daddy's fine."

Aurelia served Arnold a bowl of soup. "Arnold, have you forgotten? I'm your confidant. If you're upset about something, you should tell me first. Don't keep it to yourself."

A hint of a sad smile surfaced on Arnold's pale face. "Aurelia, I've lost you again. I was a fool to let you go."

Aurelia comforted him, "You haven't lost me. No matter what happens, you're my best friend and my family. No one can replace you. You can't hurt yourself anymore or William and I will be devastated."

William pouted, "I don't want Daddy to get hurt. I want Daddy to get better soon."

Arnold stroked his little face. Fortunately, Aurelia hadn't revealed the child's paternity yet. William was still Arnold’s son, otherwise, Arnold would have nothing left.

Aurelia originally planned to have William and Leopold recognize each other at the wedding, but now she had dismissed the idea.

Arnold needed William. Before his depression was cured, he shouldn't be subjected to any more stress.

"William has been talking about you these past days. You need to get better soon and take him to a baseball game."

Arnold grabbed her hand, "Aurelia, you and William really won't leave me, will you?"

"We won't, I promise," Aurelia reassured him, her tone like that of a mother comforting her child.

Then she fed him the chicken noodle soup.

Finally, Arnold found the familiar, comforting feeling again. He couldn't lose her. Without her, his world would be bleak and lonely.

She smiled slightly and asked, "Is it good?"

"Yes." He nodded. The soup tasted good, though there was a hint of bitterness. Could it be the taste of jealousy? If it wasn't for Arnold, would Leopold have the chance to taste Aurelia’s homemade soup? In her heart, Arnold was always ahead of him, always more important.

"If I get sick one day, will you take care of me?"

Aurelia gave him a playful look and said, "You're not allowed to get sick."

He smirked, "I'm only human. How can I not get sick?"

Aurelia gave him a sly look, placing her hand on his stomach, "Are you having stomach pain again?"

She heard from Laura that Leopold had a bad stomach and had been hospitalized twice for stomach bleeding.

Leopold gripped her hand and said, "Only when I'm upset. So don't make me upset."
