Leopold's gaze became icy and stern, "I'll catch up with you when I'm free. During work hours, I don't wish to deal with personal matters. If you have nothing else to attend to, get back to work."
She seemed to have received a blow and her shoulder twitched slightly. She wanted to say something but swallowed her words, lowering her head in sadness, she managed a slight nod, "I understand."
She exited the room with her head hung low.
Leopold leaned back into his executive chair, realizing that he didn't want to have sex now.
He was not interested in other women. Even he found it baffling.
Back in her office, Aurelia had barely sat down when she noticed Evelyn's return.
Seriously? That was quick.
Leopold wanted to have sex, surely it was the perfect time for a quick romp when Evelyn walked in.
Could it be over in just a few minutes? Surely not, Leopold looked fit, not like he was impotent.
She took a sip of water to dilute the unwanted emotions. For some reason, she felt a touch of schadenfreude. After all, that guy had always bullied her, leaving her lips swollen from his punishment.
As she turned her head, she noticed Evelyn was watching her, a hint of suspicion in her eyes.
“She wasn't suspecting me, was she?” Aurelia thought.
People who commit shady deeds always feel a bit uneasy.
Subconsciously, she averted her gaze, pretending she hadn't seen anything. She pulled an orange from her bag and began to peel it.
Evelyn was scrutinizing her lips, and they didn't look like they'd been hit, but rather like they'd been kissed... Since she left the CEO's office, her lips had been like this.
But it was impossible. She was pregnant with Arnold's child, so why would Leo be interested in her?
[I'll kill that bitch.] Elowen seemed to have lost her mind, sending bomb emojis to flood the screen.
Aurelia quickly deleted the chat history.
Nearby, Evelyn walked over with a cup of coffee, "When are you and Arnold planning to get married?"
"We'll wait until the baby is born," Aurelia replied nonchalantly.
Evelyn took a sip of her coffee with a smirk, "It seems like you're not in a rush to get married at all. Or have you been pushing for it secretly, but Arnold's been dragging his feet, unwilling to commit?"
Aurelia peeled another slice of the orange, placing it in her mouth. After swallowing, she smiled faintly, "Do you remember what I used to say? Men are like sand, the tighter you hold, the faster they slip away. Better to let go a little, he might not be able to leave you then."
Evelyn stared at her unblinkingly, a trace of coldness in her eyes, "Aren't you afraid Arnold will dump you? Do you know the saying in the socialite circle? No woman can hold Arnold's heart, because he always changes his mind sooner or later."
