The CEO's Unplanned Heir novel Chapter 231

She pulled a face, refusing to heed his unreasonable prohibitions.

"Your aunt and Elowen surely won't back down easily, their war with Evelyn isn't over yet."

Leopold clutched her disobedient ear, "Whatever they fight about, it's none of your business. Stay out of it!"

"Don't worry, I'd rather run than get involved." She pried his hand loose and rubbed her ear.

The man's most terrifying trait was his cold, cruel, and ruthless disposition. He didn't care about sentiments or relationships. It was a moth-to-flame situation to fall for him.

After a moment of silence, she sighed, "Even though Elowen lost for now, it doesn't mean Evelyn will ultimately win. When she gets old and loses her charm, you'll have to let her go."

Leopold choked a bit, glaring at her, "Do you know me that well?"

She smirked sarcastically, "Which tycoon doesn't like to have many lovers? I'd rather have a simple, honest man to spend my life with."

Hearing this, Leopold's temper flared up. Just as he was about to lose his cool, her belly suddenly moved.

A baby foot kicked, and they both felt it clearly.

Aurelia quickly changed the topic, "The babies might be waiting for your bedtime story, seems a bit impatient."

He sucked in a breath through gritted teeth.

Lucky her, for the sake of their children, he would let her off the hook this time.

He gently rubbed her belly, as if comforting the babies, then picked up the book from the bedside table.

"Aurelia, I suggest you start contemplating your resignation letter. Better plan ahead!"

Aurelia clenched the cup in her hand but maintained her composure. "I've finished that resignation letter long ago, but Mr. Leopold tore it up. He said I'm a rare talent, and he wouldn't let me go. If Ms. Evelyn really becomes the CEO's wife, she'd have to stay home and look after the kids, leaving me in charge of the Design Department."

Evelyn's eyes flashed with a cold light. She smirked, "I do hope Manager Aurelia can stay. She's a rare assistant indeed."

She emphasized the word "assistant." Aurelia caught the insinuation and smiled, "Mr. Leopold does hope I could become his right-hand woman."

In the office, many people held their breaths, admiring her courage. Clashing with the future CEO's wife wouldn't end well.

Suddenly, a frantic figure burst in, startling everyone.

Elowen's hair was disheveled, her face as pale as a sheet. Her typically bright eyes were now bloodshot and puffy, as if she'd been crying all night.
