In Chapter 138 of The Bond Between Us novel, the narrative takes a riveting turn, plunging readers deeper into the intricacies of Anastasia and Herman's evolving relationship. As the couple grapples with the shocking revelation of their shared past, the town of Riverdale becomes a backdrop for both confrontations and moments of quiet introspection.

Chapter 138 opens with Anastasia attempting to piece together the fragments of her forgotten memories, haunted by the striking resemblance of their daughter to a past she never knew she had. The quaint charm of Riverdale transforms into a landscape of uncertainty as Herman, determined to unearth the truth, confronts Anastasia with questions that demand answers.

Katelyn double-checked the back of Pattie's neck, afraid she'd seen wrong. Sure enough, there it was, a red, round birthmark.

"What a coincidence," Katelyn murmured under her breath. Herman had a similar birthmark, but his was located around his waist area.

"Ma'am, I've brought the blanket." Irene came in carrying a blanket.

"I guess I'll take Pattie to bed." Katelyn lifted Pattie, surprised by how light the little girl was.

Herman's office had a rest area where he'd catch some sleep when he was beat. The rest area was well equipped, and Katelyn gingerly placed the girl on the bed to sleep.

About half an hour later, when Herman and Kenny had finished their contract talks, he found out Katelyn was there.

"Son, whose kid does that little girl belong to?" Katelyn asked.

"We found her on the street, Anastasia and I. She's from Harmony Meadows," Herman replied, "Where's she?"

"She's sleeping in there," Katelyn said. "She's a real looker, that one. Bit skinny, though. Speaking of kids, when's your wife gonna pop out a baby? I'd really like to stop being green with envy every time I hang out with my friends, all of them have grandkids but me. It really gets to me."

"We should have some good news soon," Herman replied. He was pretty confident about his abilities. Maybe Anastasia was already pregnant.

Hearing this, Katelyn burst into laughter. "That's my boy. Can't wait to spoil some grandkids."

Herman just smiled and kept his mouth shut. His eyes softened when he talked about Anastasia.

"Son, when are you planning on bringing Ana to Salstrom Manor? You know secrets have a way of coming out. We need to make your wife's status official."

"Anastasia's birthday is coming up," Herman said quietly. "I have a plan."

"Son, you're going to announce this at Ana's birthday party?"

Herman nodded.

Katelyn laughed gleefully. “Son, you’re such a romantic. If you’d made up your mind earlier, I might’ve already had a bunch of grandkids."

Ana's birthday was two months away, and Herman was secretly planning a surprise party for her.

While they were talking about Anastasia, a message from her popped up on his phone, [How's Pattie?]

"Thank you." The colleague hurried off to the bathroom.

Anastasia went downstairs to the front desk to get the bracelet just as the guest arrived.

The guest was the wife of a bank president, who had specially ordered a custom bracelet from Selena. She was passing by the company today and decided to pick it up in person.

Anastasia led the guest to the reception room and said, "Wendy, this is the bracelet you ordered. Take a look."

Wendy couldn't wait to open the jewelry box and see the real thing. When she saw the finished product, she praised it again and again. "It's so beautiful. This is exactly the bracelet I've been dreaming of."

Anastasia was also taken aback, not because of the bracelet's beauty, but because she was the one who designed it. She had never been asked to design jewelry for any client, and the design of this bracelet was something she had drawn casually. How on earth had it been made into a real piece of jewelry?

"Wendy, you're here." At that moment, Selena walked in enthusiastically.

Then everything clicked for Anastasia.

Selena had stolen her design.
