Claire could have dodged Jasper’s mom without breaking a sweat. Still, she couldn’t deny how good it felt to have someone step up for her.
The showdown between the moms was just too wild to ignore. Claire ended up grabbing her phone to catch it all on video.
“Not from this angle,” Sophia whispered, sliding over to help. “If you’re filming, make sure my mom’s the star. She’d love to see herself later.”
Darcey caught them at it and nearly blew a gasket. These two really had no shame.
Two male teachers rushed in, trying to separate the moms. It wasn’t easy, mostly because Bonnie was so heavy. Cicely, on the other hand, kept her cool the whole time, stopping whenever Bonnie backed off.
“Ladies, is this really the example you want to set for your kids?”
“We’re here to fix things, not start a brawl!” Darcey called out, too nervous to get close. She threw a sharp look at Sophia and Jasper. “Aren’t you two going to stop your mothers?”
Jasper finally snapped out of it. “Mom, enough! You’re not going to win anyway!”
He’d actually been kind of happy when he saw his mom about to smack Claire. The girl deserved it, in his opinion. But then someone stopped her at the last second, and when his mom and Sophia’s mom started going at it, he honestly thought his mom would win. She was big and strong. How could she lose?
Clearly, he hadn’t learned anything from losing to Sophia. The way his mom was getting wrecked was basically a repeat of his own defeat.
Bonnie looked ready to go for round two, but the moment her son yelled at her, all her fight fizzled out.
“You useless thing. You just stood there and watched,” Bonnie snapped at him, her frustration boiling over until she wondered why she even bothered with him.
