The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 709

He wanted to pull his hand out of hers, but to no avail.

Hertha led him to an empty area where nobody was playing. Hertha picked up a golf club off the ground, stumbling forward as she did so.

Alaric quickly stuck out his foot, preventing her from falling face-first onto the ground.

Hertha landed squarely on his chest, avoiding a mouthful of dirt.

Alaric's chest rumbled with laughter. "I thought you were strong. You can't even lift a golf club?"

Hertha quickly straightened herself up and huffed at Alaric. "I just wasn't ready. Who says I can't lift it? Look, I'm doing it now."

With a show of strength, she lifted the golf club and swung it through the air.

The club whizzed past Alaric's face, making him lean back hurriedly to avoid being hit.

"Hey, hey, hey, are you trying to murder me? My handsome face could've been damaged. Could you afford that?" Alaric was no longer laughing. Instead, he looked annoyed.

"Of course, I could."

"What would you pay me with?" Alaric scoffed.

"Myself." Hertha lifted her chin. Her eyes sparkled with confidence as she stared at him.

Alaric was taken aback and fell silent.

This woman was terrifying. She was dead set on getting him, one way or another.

"I'll leave you to it. I'm outta here." Alaric turned to leave.

"Hey, get back here! I was going to teach you! Who am I supposed to teach if you're gone?" Hertha tossed her hand, ready to put the club down and grab him.

She didn't manage her strength well, and the golf club ended up landing on Alaric's foot.

Hertha must be out to get him.

Sensing his impatience, Hertha felt a lump in her throat, and her eyes began to tear up. "Okay, from now on, I won't appear in front of you."

With that, she turned and ran.

Thalassa felt worried while watching this. She handed the golf club to Lysander and quickly said, "I'm going to check on her."

And off she went, following in Hertha's footsteps.

Hertha was truly hurt, so she ran fast. Thalassa hadn't fully recovered yet and couldn't keep up.

"Hertha, wait for me!" Thalassa called out to her while chasing after her.

As they passed the golf course's rest area, a deep, middle-aged male voice stopped her. "Thalassa, let's have a chat."
