Brittany said with a bit of frustration, "Can you cut me some slack on the price?"
She needed to save money right now because she was looking to expand her studio.
The shopkeeper wasn't a stranger to Brittany, and hesitated for a moment before saying, "One hundred and twenty dollars."
Brittany paid up right away.
Grace was running her hand over the fabric, feeling a bit sentimental.
$120 wasn't a lot for her, but she really treasured what Brittany had bought for her.
She had seen Brittany's clothes before, and a lot of them were of high quality. However, her loungewear was all about being affordable, and a whole set wouldn't cost more than $20.
She wouldn't even splurge on herself, yet she was willing to buy such expensive clothes for her. How could she not cherish this?
After leaving the shop, the three of them headed home.
Brittany took Grace to the bathroom, "Nana, take your time with the bath. All the toiletries are there. Be careful not to slip."
Grace smiled kindly, "Don't worry, I'll be careful."
Even though she was advanced in years, she was still spry.
Brittany repeated her instructions a few times before she was at ease to leave. Isaac was sitting in the living room holding a bank card, "I've been swamped at work these past few days and haven't had time to accompany Nana. If you have time, take her out to relax. I'll cover all the expenses."
"It’s okay, she's my Nana too. I should be the one to take her out."
Brittany shook her head, "Besides, you give me a lot for food expenses every month. I have money."
Isaac was under a lot of stress.
His job paid well, but his rent and food expenses every month amounted to a few thousand, and he also had to cover the costs of maintaining the old house.
After all the expenses, his savings were pretty slim.
She walked into the kitchen and made a cup of coffee, "I still have work to do tonight. You should go to bed early."
Isaac put down the bank card and went back to his room.
Grace came out after her bath and saw Brittany still working. Seeing the bank card on the table, she was very satisfied.
Good, under her persuasion, Zac had handed over the bank card.
Looks like her great-grandson had finally grown up!
Grace didn't disturb Brittany and went back to her room to lie down leisurely.
The bedsheets and blankets weren't brand new, but they had been washed and had a faint fragrance. They felt nice to the touch.
The moonlight outside the window was quietly shining on the water. Grace listened to music playing from her phone and slowly drifted off to sleep.
She opened Isaac's room door to see him already prepared for bed on the floor. He was sitting with his legs crossed on a small table in front of him, clearly still busy with work.
"Can you sleep okay?"
She originally planned to sleep on the floor herself.
"You take the bed, so Nana won't say I'm treating you poorly."
Isaac never expected Nana would like Brittany this much.
The bed sheets and blanket had been changed. Brittany climbed onto the bed, said goodnight, and closed her eyes pretending to sleep.
The room was so quiet that she only heard the sound of typing and faint breathing.
Brittany was pretending to sleep, but before she knew it, she had actually fallen asleep.
Isaac finished his work and shut off his computer. He put away the table and looked up to see Brittany lying on the bed.
Because she moved quite a bit, the shirt had ridden up, revealing a bit of her slim waist. Her skin was fair and clean.
He was drawn in by the sight, quickly flashing back to their first meeting. They were both still naive then, but not shy at all.
Isaac's throat bobbed up and down. After a while, he laid down and turned over, his emotions taking a while to settle down.
