Daniel quickly approached Emily, "Where's Great-granny Grace?"
"She is in her room," Emily replied, leading Daniel into the ward room.
"Let's go in."
Although Brittany had a falling out with Grace, she couldn't ignore the genuine care that the older woman had shown her in the past.
Emily was grateful for Brittany's forgiveness.
The three entered the room.
Daniel placed the flowers that he and Brittany had brought on a nearby table. Seeing Grace lying in bed, his eyes suddenly welled up, "Great-granny!"
Grace, seeing Daniel, was also struggling to hold back her tears, "Daniel."
Daniel climbed onto the bed, carefully holding Grace's hand, "What's wrong? Are you in pain? Are you uncomfortable?"
Seeing his concern, Grace's heart softened, "I'm not in pain, Daniel."
Brittany put down the basket of fruit she was holding, "Mrs. Salter."
Seeing Brittany, Grace felt a mix of emotions. She owed Brittany an apology.
She had shown favoritism to Joie, and Isaac had wronged Brittany.
"Bri, thank you for coming."
"You should rest. Daniel will stay in the hospital for a few days. I trust the Salter family will take good care of him."
She and Isaac had come to an agreement that Daniel was a part of the Salter family, and she had no right to stop them from being together.
As Brittany turned to leave, Grace seemed anxious, "Bri, can I talk to you?"
"Take Daniel outside," Grace instructed Emily.
Emily took Daniel and left.
The large hospital room was left with only Brittany and Grace.
"What do you want to talk about?" Brittany asked.
Grace forced herself to sit up in bed, "Bri, I owe you an apology for what happened five years ago."
Isaac indirectly caused the death of her grandmother, and she cost Isaac his Grandeur Capital.
They were then even.
Grace looked at Brittany's resolute face, and after a long silence, she said with a quivering voice, "Then I hope you find happiness."
Brittany quickly said her goodbyes and left.
Grace leaned back in bed, feeling a pang of regret.
Her decision years before had ruined her relationship with Brittany. Even though she was willing to apologize now, Brittany would not turn back.
Grace couldn't help but regret it. She had hurt Brittany for the sake of Joie.
Was it worth it?
"Mrs. Salter, take care of your health. Your health is important."
"Emily, do you think Bri will ever forgive me?"
