Brittany chuckled lightly, "So, the economic status of NK Corporation is in trouble, huh? You're even paying attention to our tiny, insignificant studio, Mr. Salter?"
"Don't talk to me like that," Isaac's eyes were deep-set.
He couldn't stand Brittany's attitude toward him at the time. She was like a fiercely defensive hedgehog, ready to hurt him at any moment, leaving him utterly drained.
"So, how should I interact with you?"
Could it be that he had been in a high position for too long and then wanted to do some charity work?
Isaac watched the sneer at the corner of her mouth, his eyes flashing with confusion, "Have you eaten yet?"
Brittany didn't respond. She had no appetite.
If she couldn't solve the bank's issue in a day, she wouldn't be able to eat for a day.
"I'll treat you to a meal." Isaac saw through her thoughts, a hint of heartache flashing in his eyes. She was still the same as she was five years ago, completely devoting to her work and putting her own needs last.
"No, thanks." Brittany shook her head. She couldn't eat in front of Isaac.
"If you join me for a meal, I'll help you with the bank."
"Mr. Salter." Brittany slightly raised her eyebrows, finding that amusing, "What are you trying to do? Play the philanthropist? Or are you trying to sugar daddy me?"
"That's not what I meant," Isaac's face darkened. He just wanted to help her.
Brittany walked past him.
"Brittany, let's talk." Isaac grabbed her hand, his voice possessing a hint of pleading.
Brittany withdrew her hand and said, "Alright, Mr. Salter."
Since he wanted to talk, let's talk.
Suppressing his joy, Isaac immediately took Brittany to a fancy restaurant.
They chose a private room, and Isaac ordered dishes according to Brittany's taste. When the waiter left, he brought her a cup of coffee.
Brittany didn't touch the cup.
Then Shona walked in, looking attractive.
"Mr. Salter, I heard you were here, so I came to say hi..." Shona's excited expression froze when she saw Brittany.
“Brittany, she's alive?” she thought.
Shona had just returned from a business trip and knew nothing about what had happened at the dinner party.
Seeing someone who was supposedly dead for five years suddenly appear alive in front of her, Shona was a bit stunned.
"Ms. Bennett." Brittany broke the silence first, "Long time no see."
Shona's expression was a bit odd. She walked up to Brittany and forced a smile, "Ms. Dustin, long time no see."
"I'm sorry, I ran into Mr. Salter by chance." Brittany thought Shona's odd behavior was due to her having dinner with her fiancé, so she explained, "Mr. Salter and I have finished our discussion. You guys carry on."
Just as she was thinking of how to leave, Shona took the initiative to approach.
