"You think I'm playing you for a fool? Just like everyone else, you think I'm using William's love for me?"
"Aren't you?" Isaac asked instinctively. He regretted his words the moment they left his mouth.
The situation between Brittany and William was like a thorn in his heart.
That thorn was then deeply embedded in his heart, causing him unbearable pain. If he was suffering, then Brittany shouldn't have had it easy either!
"William has been good to me, and I'm grateful," Brittany said, tears streaming down her face. "Isaac, who are you to question me? Don't forget where you were when I was in the most danger. You were on a plane! You were in Y country with Joie. Rumors about you two were all over the place. Where were you when I was being ridiculed?
Isaac, before you question me, do you think you've been fair to me?"
Isaac was hit where it hurt; his breath hitched, "I've already explained this to you..."
"I've also explained the situation with William."
Isaac realized he had said something he shouldn't have and wanted to apologize, but Brittany, covering her eyes, sobbed, "Isaac, there's no trust left between us. Let's get a divorce."
Brittany had already forgiven him, but every word Isaac had said that night felt like a knife to her heart.
He had always known about her debt to William.
She thought that even if he couldn't fully understand, he would never doubt her like everyone else did.
She never expected that Isaac would also suspect their relationship, even thinking that she was using William.
The mention of divorce filled Isaac with rage. He roughly grabbed her hand and lunged at her, "Divorce? You want to divorce me?"
Brittany was startled, tears welling up in her eyes, "Yes, I want to divorce you."
This time, she was serious.
Brittany never expected that Isaac, usually gentle and caring, could be so violent, even forcing himself on her while she was pregnant.
Smelling her scent, Isaac became even more excited, "You want to leave me, don't you?"
"Who do you want to marry after divorcing me? William? Or some other man?"
Brittany could only feel the pain radiating from her lower body. A metallic smell filled the room. Realizing what was happening, Brittany started to resist with all her strength.
"It hurts!"
Isaac suddenly stopped. He looked down, the anger in his eyes replaced by fear. Almost instinctively, he pulled out and quickly dressed himself. Then he held Brittany, his voice choked with emotion, "I'm sorry, Bri, I'm sorry... don't be scared..."
Brittany was on the verge of losing consciousness. She felt numb all over. She watched as thick blood dripped onto the bed sheet, forming a patch of red.
In a hoarse voice, she said, "Isaac, if anything happens to my baby, I'll never forgive you!"
