Mrs. Harris noticed Brittany's confusion and frowned, "You don't know? Your engagement to Mr. Salter is an open secret. A lot of people are placing orders with you because they're attracted by Mr. Salter's fame."
Mrs. Harris had assumed that both of them had made this decision.
Brittany's heart pounded.
Did Isaac think his strategy wasn't effective enough, so he wanted to bind her with benefits?
He really was a businessman.
He even wanted to solve love and marriage with money!
Seeing Brittany's face turn pale, Mrs. Harris thought she had said something wrong, "Ms. Dustin, are you okay?"
Brittany came back to her senses, looking at Mrs. Harris's worried eyes, and smiled, "I'm fine, Mrs. Harris. Thanks for letting me know."
Seeing Brittany's expression return to normal, Mrs. Harris bid her goodbye.
After Mrs. Harris left, Brittany looked at the orders she had signed with the rich ladies in the morning, feeling a bit regretful.
More than twenty orders. If she backed out now, she'd have to pay triple the breach-of-contract penalty.
Triple. That's not a small sum.
She didn't lack money, but she didn't have enough cash flow either.
Brittany knew this was a trap set by Isaac, but she couldn't avoid it, because she had no choice.
Joie had touched Brittany's stuff, and that news was not hidden.
When Isaac came over at noon, he gave Brittany a more gorgeous, intricate brooch.
The brooch looked very expensive at first glance.
"Grandma has told me what happened, " Isaac said, “Nothing like this will happen again."
Facing that expensive brooch, Brittany was indifferent, even a bit amused, "You bought that brooch from H city for me. You told me then that you bought it randomly on the street. I've always liked that brooch. Do you know why?"
"Mr. Salter, you must have doubted my identity, right?" Brittany's eyes narrowed, "Before marrying me, you always lived in Radiant Residences. As soon as you married me, you moved to the apartment we lived in before. Are you afraid I have other motives?"
Brittany had just received a call from the former landlord in the morning and found out that Isaac had lied to her.
He once told her that he had lived in that apartment for a long time.
In fact, the apartment was rented on the day they officially got married.
Isaac shuddered slightly.
"I can understand. Because we initially had a contract marriage, so we both kept our guard up," she stated.
Brittany watched his face turn paler and suddenly didn't want to talk anymore. After a moment of silence, she put down her utensils and said, "I'm full."
Isaac watched her walk into the dressing room. Then, he suddenly punched the office desk.
The entire office was filled with a cold atmosphere.
