Brittany found herself looking at Isaac without realizing it.
Isaac poured her a glass of water and, noticing her dazed look as he handed it to her, asked in his deep, slightly hoarse voice, "Something on your mind?"
Brittany took the water, took a sip, and shook her head to indicate that everything was fine.
"All right, I'll sort everything out and let you know."
After hanging up the phone, Brittany downed the rest of the water in one gulp. "Remember the friend I told you about yesterday? The one my grandma used to sponsor? He wants to meet you."
Isaac refilled her glass. "Since he's your friend, should we get him a gift?"
Brittany rested her chin on her hand. She didn't get to see Randell that often.
Her knowledge of him was still stuck a few years in the past, and she wasn't sure what to get him as a gift.
Isaac pulled out his phone and selected a gemstone. "What about this? Would this make a good gift?"
Brittany took a peek. The gemstone in the picture was beautifully crafted and didn't come cheap. It was a good choice.
"Okay, let's go with the gemstone."
After a good meal, Brittany was ready to get back to work when Isaac scooped her up and carried her straight to their dressing room, laying her on the bed.
"Zakky…"
Isaac reached out and wrapped his arms around her. "You've been working too hard. I'll keep you company for a nap every day from now on."
Brittany wanted to protest, but after his kiss, she found herself clutching at his shirt, her eyes sparkling.
Isaac said, "Be a good girl."
Brittany gave up on resisting and said, "Then you have to keep me company."
Isaac kissed her cheek. "Okay."
Brittany wasn't one to take naps, but she couldn't help but yawn, possibly because Isaac's embrace was so warm. Then she drifted off to sleep.
Outside, it started to snow heavily, and the whole city was blanketed in a snowstorm.
At two in the afternoon, Isaac left.
When Brittany woke up, it was already past three. After her meeting, she had her secretary reserve a table at Moon Inn.
When they arrived at Moon Inn, Randell hadn't arrived yet.
The staff led them to a private room.
The room was spacious and decorated in a retro style, with a large, exquisite vase full of flowers. The flowers gave off a faint scent in the winter air.
Isaac took off his coat and unbuttoned his collar, looking both casual and expensive.
He poured Brittany a glass of water, and as he handed it to her, he gently took her hand.
He absentmindedly caressed her hand. "After the baby is born, I'll take you to recuperate."
Brittany's body was a bit cold, and her hands and feet would become icy in winter. This had become the norm.
He had been thinking of taking Brittany to recuperate, but it had been delayed for some reason.
Brittany also realized this and smiled, agreeing. "Okay."
The room was heated, and Brittany felt a bit hot, so she took off her scarf, took her glass of water, and walked over to the window.
As she opened the window, she saw a nearly snow-white world.
