Isaac fired up the car and made a beeline for the hospital.
The pain in Brittany's belly was getting worse. Before long, her forehead was all sweaty, and she was soaked through as if she had just been fished out of the water.
Seeing this, Isaac looked worried and said, following the doctor's previous advice, "Bri, chill out; take deep breaths."
Brittany tried to do as he said and slowly relaxed.
But the pain in her belly didn't let up, and she tried her best to keep her cool.
Once they got to the hospital, Isaac carried her straight to the maternity ward. After a thorough check, the doctor said the situation was not good.
"Mr. Salter, Mrs. Salter has a weak constitution, and she has been scared a few times during her pregnancy. We've got her in time, so there's no problem for now."
He paused, "But the current results show that the baby might be weak. She needs to rest well and absolutely cannot overwork."
Hearing this, Brittany felt a chill run down her spine.
Isaac held her hand tightly and comforted her, "Don't worry, our baby is doing well right now."
Isaac took the doctor's advice and arranged for Brittany to be admitted to the hospital, planning to stay for a few days.
When the pain eased a bit, Brittany remembered her dinner plans with Grace Salter, "Zakky, Granny is still waiting. Give her a call."
"I already did."
Isaac had already informed Grace.
Grace, knowing Brittany had a bellyache, was on her way.
Before he could finish, Grace hurried in.
"Bri, how are you feeling? Does it still hurt? You were fine. How come you have a tummy ache now?"
Grace looked worried.
Brittany instinctively held her hand, "Granny, it doesn't hurt now."
"Zakky, did you not take good care of Bri?"
"Granny, Zakky has nothing to do with this." Brittany shook her head, "I just haven't been resting well recently. I'll be fine after a few days of rest."
Grace knew there were a lot of things happening recently. She sighed, "Your health is the most important thing right now. You can put the work aside for now and wait until your body stabilizes."
Brittany had planned to do the same.
The baby is more important than work.
"Granny, I'm sorry. I was supposed to have dinner with you and my sister." Brittany felt guilty. She didn't expect to have a bellyache and upset Grace's plans.
Isaac accompanied them downstairs.
Brittany looked at the sunflowers on the bedside table and felt a chill down her spine.
How was Joie related to Grace? And she even became her granddaughter?
Before leaving, Grace said to Isaac, "Zac, Bri's not well. You need to take better care of her and keep her safe."
"Granny, I know."
After the black car left, Isaac went upstairs.
Back in the ward, he ordered soup from Moon Inn for Brittany. While waiting, he helped her change into the hospital-provided clothes, "I've already informed the studio with Kari."
Brittany held his hand tightly, her eyes filled with fear, "Zakky, I was scared."
Isaac was also quite scared, "In the future, you need to rest well."
Brittany started considering whether she should temporarily give up her work until after the baby was born.
But the Field family hadn't been dealt with yet.
A new product was about to be launched. It was a critical time. How could she just leave?
