The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart novel Chapter 280

The garden was lit up like a Christmas tree with people mingling about. All Brittany wanted was to wrap up the engagement party and get home.

Hannah sidled up to her, "Really? Your hubby can't afford these little cupcakes?"

"He can."

Brittany was busy sampling them, "But I want to take some home for him."

Hannah felt a bit overwhelmed by the sweet atmosphere.

Suddenly, Hannah saw Isaac coming downstairs, and his aura was off the charts.

"Bri, Mr. Salter is coming down."

Brittany kept on picking out cupcakes, and without even lifting her head, she said, "Yeah, I got it."

Hannah fell silent.

He's your husband! Can't you at least take a look?!

When the guests noticed him, they held their breaths, even too scared to make a sound.

Everyone thought Isaac would leave, but to their surprise, he sat in the most secluded spot, his handsome face hidden behind a golden mask, but his eyes were cold and piercing.

Guests instinctively avoided him, keeping their distance.

Brittany was engrossed in the desserts. Every single one tasted great. She glanced around and noticed Isaac's favorite cupcakes on the buffet table not far away.

Only one was left.

She quickly walked over, trying to grab the last piece.

But to her surprise, someone else's hand reached out faster.

"Hold on."

Brittany grabbed the person's hand, her eyes pleading, "Could I... Oh, Mr. Salter, is that you?"

Brittany didn't expect Mr. Salter to be the one reaching for the same cupcake, and she quickly withdrew her hand.

A glint of depth flashed in Isaac's eyes, "You want it?"

"No, no, no..." Brittany shook her head, "You like it. You should have it."

She didn't dare to compete with him.

The news of Derek and Loraine's engagement had stirred up quite a fuss in the society.

This was their first public appearance, naturally causing quite a stir.

Hannah couldn't hide her displeasure at Derek, "Let's go; let’s keep our distance."

Who knows what kind of trouble Loraine, the drama queen, could stir up? She had to protect Brittany.

"Ms. Dustin." But Loraine spoke first.

She called out to Brittany, holding a glass of champagne, slowly walked over, "Ms. Dustin, I apologize for my previous actions. I hope you can forgive me."

Loraine's attitude was gentle, lacking her previous arrogance.

Brittany never planned on accepting Loraine's apology, let alone reconciling with her, so she took a step back.

"Ms. Field, you indeed owe me an apology, but I don't plan on forgiving you."

Loraine didn't expect Brittany to reject her so bluntly. She bit her lip, her eyes welling up with tears.

Derek, who had warmed up to Brittany after their previous interactions, interjected, "Ms. Dustin, Loraine realized her mistake about this matter."
