Before he met Brittany, Isaac hardly ever set foot in a seafood market. But now, he knew the ins and outs of every seafood market nearby. Whether it was where the seafood was cheap and fresh or where it was pricy but tasty, he had it all figured out.
Brittany really enjoyed picking out seafood. She bought a few lobsters and was planning to whip up a delicious lobster bake at home. She was the one who had picked out the ingredients, while Isaac's job was to lug everything around.
Not far away, a black car pulled up, and Warren was eyeballing them. "Is that Brittany's husband?" He asked.
"Yes, apparently he works in finance." Someone answered.
Warren had been digging up all the dirt he could find on Brittany recently, and as he'd suspected, they didn't have two pennies to rub together. The house they bought together was even cheaper than the one he could buy without thinking twice.
"Which company does he work for?" Warren asked.
"Grandeur Capital." came the reply.
Warren looked surprised, "Does he have any special status? How did he get into Grandeur Capital at such a young age?"
"We checked him out. He's a local, went to undergrad, and he's pretty competent." The driver answered. That was all the info he could dig up, nothing particularly remarkable.
He just couldn't wrap his head around why Brittany would turn down a fortune worth hundreds of millions just to be with a guy who's got diddly squat. What on earth did she want?
Warren scoffed. He didn't think much of Isaac.
Brittany and Isaac left the seafood market, hand in hand, and headed back to their apartment. They cooked a scrumptious dinner together. After they had eaten, Isaac carried Brittany back to their room to start their long overdue special exercise.
Brittany was all sweaty and panting, leaning on Isaac's neck, her lips slightly parted and flushed. She nipped his neck lightly, "Zakky, let's have a baby."
Ever since Donna Dustin passed away, Brittany had been longing for a child of her own with Isaac. She wanted someone who was blood-related to her because she felt so alone.
On hearing this, Isaac paused for a moment. He hadn't thought about having kids yet.
On the one hand, he and Brittany were still young, and their main focus was on their careers. On the other hand, the situation with the Salter family was still unstable, and it might not be safe to have a child now.
He bent down and gently kissed Brittany's sweaty face, his eyes filled with tenderness and affection.
"All right, let's wait a while, and then we'll have a baby." He said.
As long as Brittany wanted a baby, he was willing to agree. Once everything had settled down, they would have their own child.
Warren saw the wariness in Brittany's eyes and chuckled lightly, "Ms. Dustin, I don't want things to get awkward, but if you're not willing to drop the charges, there are plenty of ways I can make you lose everything you have!"
Brittany clenched her fists, her eyes bloodshot, "Why is apologizing so hard for you?"
"Ms. Dustin, you should realize I will not apologize."
Seeing Brittany hesitate, Warren decided to up the ante, "Just so you know, my daughter Fiona is a senior executive at Grandeur Capital. If she wanted to fire an employee, it wouldn't be a hard task."
This was a blatant threat. Brittany bit her lip hard, "You..."
"Since she's a senior executive, why don't she fire me right now!"
Brittany turned around and saw Isaac in a black suit striding over to her. He held her in his arms, his eyes coldly fixed on Warren.
When their eyes met, the atmosphere turned icy.
Warren had met countless rich people, but he was taken aback by Isaac's gaze.
