Loraine's eyes were burning with rage, "Mom, Brittany is the woman Zac married."
Susan's face fell instantly, "Is that true?"
Jason was totally caught off guard. He never thought Brittany would marry someone like Isaac. No wonder she had been on a roll lately, making quite a splash.
"Yes, Zac hid his true identity from Brittany." Loraine hadn't planned on telling her parents about this, but now things were going south, she had to switch up her game plan.
Susan anxiously said, "Loraine, don't worry. If Zac can keep his real identity a secret, I bet his feelings for Brittany aren't that deep. We'll back you up."
Loraine choked back her tears, a ruthless glint in her eyes.
...
When Brittany woke up, she could hear voices coming from the living room. Her body was sore and aching. The aftermath of last night's overexertion was taking its toll on her.
With difficulty, she sat up. She then pushed open the bedroom door, and heard Grace's disgruntled voice, "Look at you, it's been ages since I've seen Bri!"
"Granny." Brittany, seeing Grace, mustered up some energy.
Grace immediately turned her head and rushed over. She embraced Brittany and said affectionately, "Finally, I've been waiting for you, Bri. I've missed you. Zac, that guy, never brings you home. I haven't been eating or sleeping properly, so I thought I'd pay you a visit this weekend."
These days, when Grace wasn't busy chewing Manuel out, she was thinking about Brittany. But Isaac was stubborn and wouldn't bring Brittany home, and she had to come herself.
Brittany held Grace's hand in an awkward position, occasionally rubbing her waist with her other hand, looking pained.
Grace, sharp as a tack, immediately noticed something was off. Considering Brittany's shyness, she didn't say anything. She found an excuse to go to the kitchen and nudged Isaac, "Zac, I wasn't wrong about you. It's been a while, and you and Bri?"
Her suggestive eyes said it all. Isaac choked and after a while, reluctantly said, "Granny, she's embarrassed. Would you mind keeping it down?"
Grace nodded, "Don't worry, I get it."
She had taken a good look earlier. The marks on Brittany's neck were particularly noticeable. Anyone could tell they were Isaac's handiwork.
Young people, so full of energy.
Brittany rested for a long time, barely managed to eat lunch under Grace's suggestive gaze, and was carried back to the room to sleep by Isaac in the afternoon. It wasn't until six in the evening that she regained some energy.
Only then did Grace realize she had misspoken and quickly added, "I'm not saying I've never had it. I saw online that it’s really popular."
Brittany felt a pang in her heart. She felt bad that, Grace, at her age, had never experienced the delicacy of wagyu. Brittany blamed herself for not considering the old lady's needs in advance.
After some thought, she proposed, "Granny, why don't we try the beef here tonight, and tomorrow night I'll take you to a Japanese restaurant where they have delicious wagyu. How does that sound?"
The barbecue place was also good. Since they were there, they couldn't miss out.
The Japanese restaurant had an excellent reputation, although it was a bit pricey. She had only been there once or twice.
If Grace liked it, they could have a meal there as a treat for herself.
Grace couldn't refuse Brittany's suggestion, "Alright, we'll do as Bri says."
"Grace, what are you doing here?" After Nathan finished work, he arranged to have dinner with a few friends. As soon as he walked in, he saw Grace. But the moment the words left his mouth, he saw Isaac sitting to one side.
Nathan's eyes bulged out in surprise.
