The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart novel Chapter 174

She was really wiped out, and needed to take a breather.

Brittany muttered wearily, “This is all your fault.”

Isaac didn’t respond. Instead, he gave her a good half-hour massage before gently helping her out of bed, and then he asked, “What do you fancy eating?”

Brittany was feeling all sorts of aches and pains, so he fetched her a soft cushion to place under her and behind her back.

Brittany said nothing.

He went off to the kitchen, and Brittany picked up her phone, unlocking it to a barrage of messages. Probably from Kari.

Brittany didn’t want and didn’t know how to respond.

She unlocked her phone and found her internet was acting up - she had a sinking feeling about it.

Sure enough, a few seconds later, Hannah called her. She picked up, but before she could even say hello.

“Bri, all hell has broken loose. People online are claiming that Ms. Russell had an affair, and they've even published your DNA test results with Donna Dustin, saying you're not a Dustin kid!”

“The Dustins are behind this. What are they playing at?”

The ones spreading these rumors were all influential online accounts, coupled with some old photos of embraces, handshakes, and whatnot.

The photos weren't explicitly inappropriate, but the so-called exposés were as though they knew Julie's secret.

The angles in the photos made them seem suggestive, turning a normal relationship into a case of marital infidelity with solid 'evidence'.

The photos were all from a long time ago and had been verified by internet sleuths, and they weren’t fake.

As a top-tier goddess, Julie had once been the woman of many people’s dreams. When she died, there were quite a few who mourned.

With this scandal coming to light and the Boulton and Dustin families fanning the flames, the story was blowing up, and the internet was practically imploding!

It wasn’t just online accounts posting about it. A lot of influential figures in Imperial City were coming forward too.

Including the man’s wife in the photos, they angrily accused Julie of having an affair, even detailing the whole affair. A few posts were enough to paint Julie as the other woman.

Hannah could barely handle it, let alone guess how Brittany must be feeling.

Brittany felt a wave of darkness wash over her, her breath coming out in short gasps, “When did this happen?”

“Half an hour ago.”

Hearing Brittany’s voice falter, Hannah asked urgently, “Bri, are you okay?”

“I’m fine. I’m totally fine, Hannah. Thanks for telling me about this; I need to cool off for a bit.”

Brittany was on edge and hadn’t expected Robert to do something like this to Julie!

Without any evidence, they accused Julie of having an affair just based on those photos!

And those so-called rich housewives, many of them had benefited from Julie before.

Nathan sprung into action immediately. In less than ten minutes, news of a star's secret marriage and child, and his suspected underage sexual assault, was released.

The police issued an official notice immediately, confirming the news was true.

“I don't know why, but I feel like this news was released to distract from Julie's issue!”

“No way; Julie died twenty years ago. Who would care about her without some big shot pushing it?”

“Compared to a moral issue, a criminal issue is more serious, and she’s underage, so that star’s days are numbered.”

“Breaking news, this guy is known for being a player in the industry.”

Julie's issue was losing steam.

Eventually, most people focused on the latest news, and Julie's issue was put on the back burner.

Robert had been expecting Brittany to come begging but had not expected the heat to die down so quickly. Could Brittany have really hooked up with some big shot?

The office door was pushed open.

His secretary panicked, “Mr. Dustin, there's trouble.”

“What trouble could there be? Get out!” Robert was clearly impatient. What else could go wrong now?

“Ms. Dustin is here; she said she's suing you!”
