The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart novel Chapter 172

It felt like a sucker punch to his gut. William’s face suddenly changed, "That's not the same thing."

When he met Brittany, she was already with Finn. For four whole years, he held himself back from his feelings for her.

Four years later, they broke up.

And just as he returned to the country, before he even had a chance to contact Brittany, she was already married to Isaac.

No matter how he looked at it, he and Brittany always seemed to miss something.

"William, I don't want to ruin our friendship over this. Let's not bring it up again."

Isaac was not happy. Brittany and William were too close for comfort.

William knew he needed to keep his distance, and he always had; "I haven't done anything. We’ve always been just friends. The transplant match results are not promising; I’ve already reached out to people around us for help, hoping for a good outcome."

Isaac responded with an unchanged expression.

He turned to leave.

"Zac, Bri hates being lied to. You’d better come clean about your real identity sooner rather than later." William called after him. He could see that Brittany was doing well now, and he had no intention of blowing up her world.

He was worried Brittany wouldn't be able to handle the deception.

Isaac paused his steps but didn't turn around and said, "That's my business."

William sighed, paused a moment, then followed him out.

When they both returned, Derek thought something was up, but to his surprise, they acted like they didn't know each other and even managed to finish the meal calmly.

Isaac went to pay the bill, and Brittany turned to William, "William, did you drive here? Do you need me to give you a lift?"

"No need, I drove here."

William glanced at Derek, a hint of anger in his eyes, and said to him, "Mr. Derek, I'll give you a ride."

Derek stuttered, unable to reply.

"Well, if you have a ride, we're going to take off."

Isaac came out after paying the bill and left with Brittany.

Sharp as always, Brittany picked up on his mood, grabbed his hand, and was shoved into the car by the man. He leaned over and bit her lip, and asked, "Chatting and laughing so happily with another man, are you doing it on purpose?"

Derek didn't think he had done anything wrong. On the contrary, even when being deceived, William still defended Brittany. What was he thinking?

"She didn't deceive me." William answered instinctively, "She never hid the fact that she was married to me. We were just friends, nothing more. As for her and Zac, she has no idea we know each other."

"Do you really believe that her meeting with Zac was a coincidence?"

Derek didn't think there were so many coincidences in the world, let alone all happening to Brittany.

"Derek, she's my friend, don't talk like that anymore."

William was usually gentle and tolerant, especially towards his friends. But for Brittany, he gave a stern warning.

Derek clenched his fists with anger in his eyes.

It's like he's been drugged!

"Don't do things like this in the future."

William turned around, walked a few steps, stopped, and looked back at Derek.

"You seem to hate her a lot. Is it because of Loraine?"
