The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart novel Chapter 165

Hannah had spent much time and effort getting everything done as she'd promised.

Taking the sample, Brittany gave thanks and headed straight to the appraisal center that same day.

They told her it would take a week to get the results.

Coming back to the ward, she found Isaac's bandages were off, and his wound was healing well.

All her focus had been on Donna Dustin these past few days, leaving her with no time to check up on Isaac. Seeing him dozing off on the couch, she felt a pang of guilt.

So she went over to him.

Suddenly, the guy woke up and grabbed her waist, "Where did you run off to?"

"I went to the appraisal center."

Isaac was taken aback, seeming to guess something but remained silent, "You've been working your butt off these days; take a rest. We'll deal with everything else after you wake up."

Brittany had been on edge these days, but now with Donna Dustin's condition stabilizing, she let out a sigh of relief and felt incredibly sleepy.

Isaac wasn't doing much better either. He helped her onto the bed and tucked her in tight, "Get some rest."

Brittany closed her eyes and was out like a light in no time.

She slept like a log.

By the time she woke up, she was back at her apartment.

Propping herself up, she felt refreshed, as if someone had bathed her.

The only person who could've possibly helped her with that was Isaac.

Realizing this, Brittany blushed hard. She got out of bed and heard some noise from the kitchen.

She walked over and saw Isaac in the kitchen.

The sunlight streamed in through the blinds, enveloping him in a soft glow.

Brittany leaned against the wall. Her eyes stuck on him.

He was good-looking, even in just a white knitted sweater. It seemed tailor-made for him, his every move full of grace.

"You're awake."

Isaac felt her gaze and glanced back at Brittany.

Brittany walked over and hugged his waist, smelling the faint pine scent on him, "Have you completed the discharge procedures?"

"Yeah, it's done."

He didn't stop what he was doing, "Hungry?"

"Not really."

In fact, she was starving.

Isaac sped up his cooking, "Food's almost ready."

Brittany gave a nod.

Work had been hectic these past few days, but he'd stayed in the hospital with Brittany.

They grew up together, and Derek had never seen Isaac put off work for personal matters.

Isaac nodded, "You've had a tough time these days. I’ll take over most of the work."

"That's what I should do."

Derek pulled out a chair and sat down. He started to report on the work and then brought up Loraine, "Loraine has been hospitalized for so long; haven’t you visited her?"

"I have no plans to."

Derek frowned, feeling that Isaac was being a bit cold, "Isaac!"

"Derek, we don't need to discuss this matter anymore."

Isaac didn't like Derek bringing up Loraine, nor did he want their relationship to be affected because of her.

Derek realized he had overstepped, "I just think that since we grew up together, there's no need to cut ties like this."

"That's why I'm still in contact with the Field family."

Isaac looked at Derek, "You've seen what happened at the business event. She wants to marry me, but I'm already married. If I visit her now, it's like giving her hope; I don't like stirring up trouble for myself."

In some ways, if it wasn't for the elders of the Field family, he wouldn't even want to keep in touch with Loraine.

Derek was at a loss for words, making the atmosphere in the office a bit awkward.
