As long as Robert was willing to get a matching test, as long as he's ready to donate his kidney.
She can take anything.
Isaac gently stroked the back of her head, hoping she’d chill out.
Donna Dustin was seriously ill, and she was rushed into the ER. CPR was underway, but things were still looking pretty grim.
Dr. Eric issued a critical illness notice, asking Brittany to brace herself for the worst.
Brittany didn't want to sign, so Isaac did it for her.
Hannah rushed over. The Chester family's parents had also gotten tested, but there were no matches.
Tanya Chester found out Robert hadn't even set foot in the hospital, and she was pissed. She lit into him over the phone.
After hanging up, Tanya was livid; her eyes were red. "Does he have any decency left? Things are this bad, and he still won't come to the hospital?"
He wanted Donna Dustin dead!
Brittany leaned on Isaac, and her eyes blurred with tears. She was speechless for a moment.
After six hours of emergency treatment, Dr. Eric came out, looking a bit less tense. "Ms. Dustin, Donna Dustin's life is temporarily saved, but her body can't take any more. If we don't find a suitable kidney donor, next time we might not be able to save her."
Brittany couldn't speak; after talking with Dr. Eric, Isaac moved Donna Dustin into the ICU for constant monitoring.
Robert showed up late when he found out Donna Dustin was temporarily stable. He didn't cooperate with the matching test. Instead, he turned to Brittany.
"Look at the mess you’ve made. If you had agreed to my terms earlier, would we be in this situation?"
Now, he's still after the money!
Brittany's eyes welled up, "The woman lying here is your biological mother. You have to get tested. You can't use this to blackmail me!"
"That's your grandma. If you disagree, I definitely won't get tested."
Robert was not worried. He knew that as long as he kept his ground, Brittany would give in.
Hannah was fuming.
The Chester family's parents were also angry. Who would've thought Robert could be this selfish?
Robert was all cocky; he looked at Isaac, and asked, "Are you Bri's husband? Where are you from? What do you do? Got a house?"
Isaac clearly didn't give a damn about Robert; he held Brittany tightly and didn't bother to respond.
"What, cat got your tongue?"
Robert snorted, "Bri, look at the man you chose, no car, no house, no power, no status. I’ll repeat it, you can be with Finn again if you return. Wouldn’t that be better?"
Will he buy the Dustin family out of anger?
"Shut up."
Brittany cut Robert off, "Robert, Zakky is my husband, the man I'm going to spend my life with. You have no right to judge him. He might not have much now, but we will in the future. He's a good and upright man, and he’s good to me. You have no right to interfere in my business." Brittany sneered, "You're here lecturing him. Did you forget you were just a broke boy when my mom married you? Would you have achieved today's success if my mom hadn't fully supported you?"
"Brittany!"
"Zakky has his own job and earns his own money; he’s not a disgrace! But you, you've been living off others for years. Do you think everyone else is the same?"
Robert was hit, and he angrily said, "Fine, since you look down on me so much, why do you still beg me to get tested? I'm telling you, I'm not doing it!"
Robert stormed off. Brittany was so mad that she turned pale.
Isaac obviously didn't expect Brittany to quarrel with Robert over him. A hint of surprise flashed in his eyes, "Bri, you shouldn't have argued with him."
Pissing off Robert definitely won't end well.
"He shouldn't have insulted you."
Brittany bit her lip, "You're the one I chose. You’re the best; he can't criticize you."
This marriage started as a sham, but now, since they want a real deal, she must step up to the plate for Isaac.
