The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart novel Chapter 122

Isaac parked the car like an old hand, then walked to the passenger side, opened the door, and offered his hand to Brittany. "I'm buddies with the owner of this restaurant."

Brittany took his hand.

"Friends?"

He has such big-shot friends?

Isaac replied, "You know him. It's Wesley Tueley."

Grace had told him that since he had decided to give it a shot with Brittany, he could gradually let her in on some of the truth.

Brittany remembered Wesley, but she thought they were just regular business partners.

They walked into the restaurant. The place was serene, with low-key yet lavish decor. There was a solo violinist playing, and the music was sweet to the ears.

They took a seat. Brittany picked up the menu.

It was all in French. She had learned some French for dealing with foreign guests, but only enough for basic conversation, not for reading.

Faced with the thick menu, Brittany chose what looked the most delicious.

Isaac, however, could speak French fluently, which surprised Brittany. When the waiter left, she asked, "Zakky, do you speak French?"

"Uh-huh, I studied in France after college."

He paused. "But something happened at home, and I couldn't finish my studies."

That was true.

He had planned to complete his studies abroad before returning, but to his surprise, Manuel seized control of the family early.

He had to drop out and return home to take over the family affairs. Luckily, things turned out alright.

Hearing that he had been forced to drop out because of family troubles, Brittany felt sorry for him and didn't ask further.

Isaac poured her a glass of red wine and pushed it toward her, saying, "Don't drink too much."

He thought of Brittany throwing up after drinking too much before and felt he just couldn't handle it.

Brittany obviously remembered the incident too and felt a little embarrassed. "I'm going to the restroom real quick."

She walked off briskly.

Isaac sat there with his wine, waiting for her.

After some investigation, she found that Isaac had been hiding his real identity and that Brittany was just his tool.

She didn't feel like dealing with Brittany and didn't want to ruin her own image.

"Do you know Zakky?"

Brittany was clearly surprised by this. She didn't think Isaac would know a rich girl like Loraine; otherwise, he wouldn't have been so poor before.

"Whether we know each other or not is not important. Brittany, I advise you to take the compensation I'm offering and leave him, or you'll regret it."

She took out a bank card from her bag, her tone firm.

"There's five million dollars in this card as compensation to you."

Brittany looked at the bank card, torn.

She wasn't one of those people who thought money was dirt, but this money didn't seem like atonement, more like bribery.

Probably, Loraine wanted to use this money to buy off her marriage to Isaac.

"Ms. Field, if you're just feeling sorry, I can accept this money." Brittany smiled, crumpled the paper towel in her hands into a ball, and tossed it into the trash bin. "But if you're trying to use this money to buy off my marriage, then I can't accept it."
