The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart novel Chapter 110

Brittany opened her eyes, groaning.

Every inch of her body felt like it's been taken apart and put back together, with a throbbing pain in the back of her head.

The woman by the window turned around when she heard the noise and said, "You're awake."

Brittany looked at her and said, "Where am I?"

Her voice was hoarse, her throat felt like it's been grated by rough sand, and the pain was unbearable.

"I'm Zella." Zella poured a glass of water and handed it to Brittany, saying, "You just woke up; drink some water."

Brittany took the glass and took a sip. Her dry throat was soothed, and her eyes relaxed a bit.

"Did you save me?"

Brittany remembered that while she was running, someone touched her shoulder. She thought it was Patrina, but before she could confirm, she passed out.

"Yes. I just got back to the country, saw you on my way home, and took you back."

Zella was stunning.

Compared to Brittany's delicate beauty, Zella's was more aloof.

Out of gratitude for saving her life, Brittany was very thankful to Zella.

"Could I borrow your phone?"

She’s been missing; her grandma might be worried about her... Isaac might be worried too. She wanted to call them and let them know she was safe.

Zella handed her the phone right away and said, "Of course."

Brittany remembered Isaac’s phone number and dialed it. But there was no answer from Isaac.

She called Grace next. Grace answered quickly, "Bri, is that you?"

Grace hasn't slept all night since she found out Brittany was missing.

"Granny, it's me."

Hearing Grace's voice, Brittany's eyes became red, and her voice choked up: "I'm in the hospital now. Don't worry about me."

"Alright. Which hospital are you at? I'll come see you."

Grace breathed a sigh of relief, knowing Brittany was alright but worrying that she might be seriously injured. Otherwise, why would she be in a hospital?

Brittany gave her the hospital's address. Grace informed Isaac. They rushed to the hospital.

Brittany handed the phone back to Zella and said, "My name is Brittany. Zella, thank you for saving me. If you ever need anything from me, don’t hesitate to ask."

Grace tapped the floor with her cane, sternly reproaching him.

If he had done what he was supposed to do, Brittany wouldn't have been in danger.

As a man who couldn't protect his own woman, what right does he have to be angry?

Isaac knows he was in the wrong. He looked into Brittany's eyes, and his anger subsided, replaced by guilt and self-blame.

Grace was right. If he had insisted on picking Brittany up and dropping her off at work, Patrina wouldn't have had the chance.

He took a deep breath to calmed himself down. "I'm sorry, I was too worked up. You just woke up; you need to rest."

"Patrina escaped. The police are investigating. I'll find her and make her pay."

Brittany's face had been bruised. Isaac gritted his teeth; a hint of ruthlessness flashed in his eyes.

Brittany felt extremely wronged; she turned her head away, refusing to look at Isaac.

Grace gave her grandson a reproachful look. He should be comforting her right now, not scolding her!

"Get out!" Grace told him.

Isaac turned around and left the hospital room.
